This game proved to be eventful- but not in the fact that the game was close. In fact, the final score saw Trinity Christian on top 48-6. The match up was eventful, and filled with highlights due to the fact that Trinity’s team totaled 7 interceptions against Hampton’s offense. Yes, you read that correctly- 7 interceptions. As you could expect, these 7 interceptions eventually contributed to a win for Trinity Christian. Unless you’re the Dallas Cowboys, it’s extremely unlikely that a team will win if they turn the ball over 4 or more times during one game. What may seem even crazier about the 7 interceptions during this game is the fact that one player, Aaron Gates Aaron Gates 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Trinity | 2023 State GA , had 4 of those interceptions himself. It is because of this, that Gates receives our game ball from this match up.

Aaron Gates Aaron Gates 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Trinity | 2023 State GA , a 2023 DB for Trinity Christian, has already started to gain a large amount of attention from college programs, even despite only being a sophomore. During last Friday’s game, he continued to prove why he is already worth all of the attention he is gaining. During the game, Gates lined up at CB a large majority of the time and by the end of the game, he found himself with 4 interceptions against the Hampton offense. He managed to bring back one of these interceptions for a touchdown, which helped to add to Trinity’s lead.
During the game, Gate’s fluidity, and movement skills were on full display. Not only is he a very fast prospect with the ability to change the game with interceptions as he moves cleanly in and out of his breaks, but he has the ability to track the ball effectively as well. With this, Gates continuously showed that he can play with within press, and zone coverage. His frame and length have also noticeably developed since his freshman season, which will continue to draw in college coaches and recruiting staff. As Gate’s continues to play this season, he can only hope to add on to his early success. If he can remain consistent, and shine whenever he gets the chance, we have no doubt that he will continue to add to his list of offers.
