Carson Vanderhoff, Running Back, Caledonia 2021″
The senior standout wasted no time getting back into a grove for the Fighting Scots. Carson tallied 224 yards and three touchdowns on the ground on twenty-eight carries, leading Caledonia to a 49-28 win over West Ottawa.
Sam Watts, Linebacker, Rockford 2021
The junior linebacker came up huge for the Rams against OK Red foe Jenison. Watts separated the ball from a Jenison receiver, taking back the interception for a pick-six in the third quarter. Rockford escaped with a 16-13 overtime win over the Wildcats.
Tim Kloska, Running Back, West Catholic 2023″
Tim led the Falcons to a 36-13 win over Coopersville in the opener. The sophomore running back had two rushing touchdowns in the first half.
Doak Dean, Quarterback, Lowell 2021″
One of the marque games of week one pitted arch-rivals Lowell and East Grand Rapids against each other. Doak Dean, the latest in the Dean lineage carried Lowell to a key win with his three rushing touchdowns to defeat the Pioneers 20-6.
Ethan Houghtailing, Quarterback, Zeeland East 2021″
Ethan had the biggest day for any quarterback in the area, shredding Grand Rapids Union for five touchdowns en route to a 48-13 win.
Jalen Charity, Wide Receiver, Northview 2022″
Jalen led Northview with 68 receiving yards and a touchdown in Northview’s 30-12 win over Greenville. Northview (1-0) will have a tough matchup against Lowell (1-0) in week two.
