Tyrei Washington, Saint Mary’s (Stockton), 5’8” 200 lbs.
Washington is a complete back with a lot of physical tools that would transition well at the next level. He possesses a strong and compact frame with a low center of gravity that allows him to run through contact and break tackles. He’s a north/south runner that is shifty in the open field and powerful at the POA. Plus vision and understands how to read his blocks and allow the play to develop before accelerating through the gap. He picked up an early offer from William and Mary as a sophomore and has interest from several D1 programs. In a normal recruiting landscape without the limitations of COVID-19 I believe his recruiting would look much different. Has been performed well and been a top performer at several showcases this offseason.
Kimoni Stanley, Sierra (Manteca), 5’9” 180 lbs.
A dynamic natural athlete that is an electric playmaker with the ball in his hands. Explosive acceleration through the hole with plus top end speed to finish off long gains in the endzone. His elusiveness and ability to cut on a dime while not losing speed allows him to weave around tacklers and be a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Possesses a lateral jump cut that can often leaving defenders looking lost or on the turf. He has a well-rounded skillset with D1 talent, speed, and athleticism. Kimoni put up huge numbers as a junior rushing for over 2,000 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Erik Christoffersen, Clayton Valley, 5’11” 195 lbs.
A downhill runner with a well built and strong frame. He shows a good combination of power and lateral agility as a ball carrier. He can run through first contact and break tackles with good balance and pad level, often lowering his shoulder and delivering the contact. Showcased his good change of direction and short area quickness in testing and position drills. Colleges will like his versatility as a ball carrier and a receiver out of the backfield with his natural catching ability. Recently picked up his first official offer from Pacific University.
James Sherman Jr., Linden, 5’10” 180 lbs.
A good natural athlete that flashed an impressive burst and quick cut ability at the showcase. He’s elusive and difficult to bring down in the open field using a combination of quick feet, start/stop speed, and change of direction. Good vision and awareness to see open running lanes and is decisive when hitting the hole. He gets to top speed quickly and can outrun opponents to the endzone. He tends to run high so his next step would be to improve his pad level and leverage allowing him to run through contact more often. He rushed for 1,100 yards as a junior with 17 TDs and averaged almost 10 yards per carry.
Asonii McDowell, Washington Union, 5’6” 150 lbs.
I’ve had the opportunity to see Asonii at several showcases this offseason and he has been a top performer at each one. He’s a plus athlete with great change of direction and acceleration out of his cuts. Has a good burst and leg drive that allows him to gain quick separation and space within his first few steps. He’s light on his feet with good start/stop speed to make defenders miss in space. He’s not a big back but demonstrates he can run with power and strength between the tackles and break through first contact. He’s an explosive playmaker looking to build on his recruiting stock his senior year.
Kidasi Nepa, Righetti, 5’7” 165 lbs.
A versatile athlete capable of playing RB or DB at the next level. Good athleticism with quick feet and fluid hips allow him to change direction quickly and get in and out of his cuts with speed. Plus vision, he does a good job finding open running lanes and hits them hard with a strong initial burst. Shows good patience and ability to read/manipulate his blocks. On both sides of the ball he displays impressive instincts and game awareness for a young prospect. He’s one to watch as he continues to develop and improve.
