Bishop McGuinness has reloaded coming into 2020 and they appear to be ready to make another run at the title. And the future is bright for the Irish as they have several prospects in the Top 40 for 2023. Coming in at #16 is offensive lineman

. Talking to the coaches at McGuinness and they’re very excited about the possibilities for the young offensive tackle. The only time we saw him in person, he was dealing with nagging injuries that kept taking him out of their rivalry game with Bishop Kelley. But when the coaches tell you that he’s on the same path as former Irish standout Owen Condon, who’s now at Georgia, you circle and highlight the name as one to watch develop.

is an absolute monster for Bethel. Whenever you get a prospect like this and they play small town high school football, chances are the film is very entertaining. There’s not too many 6’5 kids playing at Bethel’s level. So more times than not, Compton looks like an absolute monster against undersized opponents. One thing we want to see from Compton over the next few years is to continue to work on his quickness. He has the size and strength to be a big time prospect. But he will need to get quicker in order to take that next step as an OL prospect. But he’s well on his way.

– Choctaw
The future is very bright at Choctaw and there’s no doubt about that. Choctaw is tied with three other schools for having the most prospects in our 2023 Top 40. And when you look at Choctaw’s offensive line in particular, there’s reason to be excited for the future. They have several top players at the position and none of them are seniors. One of those prospects is sophomore

. The young interior lineman comes in at #19 in our latest rankings. He’s surrounded by other top prospects and has emerged as a very promising center prospect. Gaines’ talent is a little different than the other prospects on the Choctaw OL. His game is certainly on the interior and he looks good at center.

comes in at #5 in the latest 2023 rankings. Sanders is right there with Ashford when it comes to the OL position but it’s also clear that Ashford is a future tackle and Sanders is a future guard. Sanders had a breakout freshman season on an O-Line that was full of talent and older players. Sanders and the rest of the Stillwater O-Line has come back for 2020 and they’ve picked up where they left off last year. Sanders is an absolute force on the interior of the line. He has size, he has absolute power but what puts him into the top five overall is his quickness off the ball when blocking.

. In fact, he’s right there in the conversation for being the top overall prospect in the class. Ashford, out of all the offensive lineman prospects, is one of the most polished players at the tackle position. He was considered one of the best freshmen in the country last season. This year, he’s off to a great start, anchoring an offensive line that has been dominating opponents. The Santa Fe running game has been outstanding this season and you can attribute some of that success to Ashford. What’s scary is how much better he’ll be in a few years.
