They were ranked 109th best in CA for the 19-20 season. Maxpreps has West Ranch ranked the highest out of the 6 schools at 59th best in CA for the 20-21 season. In 2019, they finished the season 10-3 beating Quartz Hill in the first round. The quarter final match against Wilson from Long Beach was an epic shootout. West Ranch was down 21 twice and came back and won 57-56. It was #SaugusStrong. Advancing to the Semi Finals, for the first time in school history but lost to a horrible PI call in the late seconds in the 4th quarter against Temecula Valley. West Ranch got robbed. Walker Eget Walker Eget 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB West Ranch | 2021 State CA will come back for his senior season. The San Jose Commit is poised to have a monster season.
2. Valencia
Winning the Foothill league title for 11 times straight. Valencia has been the most dominant team in the Foothill league in the past 10+ years. The only team right now in the Foothill League with a D1 schedule. They finished the season 8-3 losing in the first round in the playoffs to San Clemente and was ranked 63rd best in CA for the 19-20 season. They are ranked 71st for the upcoming 20-21 season. 3 star QB Tyler Voss Tyler Voss 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Valencia | 2022 State CA should have a break out season and his twin brother WR Trevor, transfers from Oaks Christian to Valencia. Duhron Goodman from Chaminade also transfers to be a Viking.
3. Golden Valley
Finishing the season 8-2 and being ranked 177 best in the state. They didn’t make the playoffs, which was shocking. They had a great season and also ended up beating a good Hart team the last game of the season. Maxpreps has them ranked 128th best in the state of CA for the upcoming 20-21 season. They should have a great season in the 20-21 season.
4. Hart
Hart had a great season as well finishing 7-5 and 3rd in league. They won their first playoff game against Chaparral but lost in the quarter final to San Juan Hills. They were ranked 147th best in CA. Maxpreps has them ranked 263rd best in CA for the upcoming season in 20-21. Losing a D1 QB like Zach Johnson to Cal, can hurt a team but we will see if they can be the dominant Hart team that they always once were.
5. Saugus
It wasn’t the season they wanted but they went through a lot with the school shooting and fought through and still gained experience and made big improvements. They finished the season with a 4-6 record not making the playoffs. They are ranked 223rd in CA for the upcoming 20-21 season. They have a promising QB in Colton Fitzgerald so Saugus should have a much better season than last year.
6. Canyon
Canyon was last place in the Foothill League with a 2-9 record but some how miraculously made the playoffs over an 8-2 Golden Valley team. They were ranked 346th in the 19-20 season and is starting the 20-21 season ranked 452nd. They have to dig deep out of their grave and start to get things going. This school is the only school in this league with a state championship ring beating a legendary De La Salle team. Not even Valencia nor Hart have that. We will see if they can bring the old cowboys back.
