Coaches need to make sure these kickers can transition to the collegiate level in terms of the technical skills but also have the mental toughness it takes to be successful at the next level. These five kickers all possess the leg strength, fundamentals, and intangibles to compete and be successful as a college kicking specialist.
Cameron Little Cameron Little 6'0" | K Southmoore | 2021 State OK 6’1” 170 Southmoore, Oklahoma Commit: Arkansas
What makes this guy special is his ability to Place Kick and Punt which will allow his college to travel with one less specialist since he can be the spare punter if needed. As a two and a half step place kicker he displays good timing and consistency in his approach to the football. He gets instant elevation on his place kicks along with excellent leg strength. His strong leg really shows up on his kickoffs where he consistently puts the ball in the endzone. Cam can also execute the onside kick with perfection including the bunt kick.
Sander Sahaydak 6’1” 160 Bethlehem Liberty, Pennsylvania Commit: Penn State
Sander is a left footed kicker that has demonstrated the ability to make the long field goal due to his explosive power on contact. Even though he has an abbreviated follow through on his kickoffs, his kicks sail to the back or through the endzone eighty per cent of the time. Sander has a huge upside as a place kicker and should excel at the next level.
Andres Borregales Andres Borregales K Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna | 2021 FL 5”11” 140 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna, Florida Commit: Miami
Andres has kicked several 50 yard plus field goals. The football seems to jump off his foot with great velocity. He displays excellent leg extension and follow through on both field goals and kickoffs. Andres also is an exceptionally good punter where he demonstrates the ability to get tremendous lift on the football along with impressive hang time despite his size.
Tommy Doman 6”3” 178 West Bloomfield St. Mary’s, Michigan Commit: Michigan
As the case with many of the best place kickers, he also doubles as a punter. Punting may actually be the thing he does best as he sends the football towering into the air making it easy for his coverage unit to get downfield to down the ball or make the tackle on the returner. Tommy also shows his athleticism by being able to field errant punt snaps. He has had over sixty touchbacks on kickoffs and is a solid field goal specialist.
Cole Beck Cole Beck 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Freedom | 2021 PA er 6’4” 210 Rocklin, California Non-Committed
Cole is a tall athletic kicker that is one of the more athletic kickers in the country. He really uses his size to his advantage on kickoffs where he can consistently drive the football out of the endzone with a lot of air under the ball. He is proficient already at kicking his field goals off the ground with no tee. Cole has a huge upside as a kicker and with continued work on the technical skills and fundamentals he should develop into an outstanding college kicking specialist.
