Two Don Bosco students tested positive for COVID-19, and as a result the two powerhouse programs and rivals will have to wait to do battle.
The Ironmen (1-2) will plan to restart practices on Monday, Nov. 2. The team is scheduled to play Bergen Tech Nov. 6. Bosco, ranked No. 12 in the state, has gone up against top-10 teams Delbarton and St. Peter’s Prep. Both games resulted in a loss. The Ironmen defeated Paramus Catholic.
It’s unclear to say if the Thanksgiving game will take place as scheduled, or if any postseason plans get in the way. The teams have met on Thanksgiving numerous times in the past.
Bergen Catholic, ranked No. 2 in New Jersey, is 4-0, with victories over St. Joseph (Mont.), Pope John, Paramus Catholic and DePaul. The Crusaders had an impressive showing last week, defeating DePaul by a 34-10 score.
