Shelley is a combination of natural ability and strong technique coming together. He’s a plus athlete with speed, acceleration, and change of direction. Explosive off the LOS with little wasted movement he’s able to close space quickly on the DB and keep them on their heels. He’s a very strong route runner that takes advantage of the coverage with good stem and nod at the top of his routes and a quick burst out of his break. Sure handed with great ability to gain yards after the catch using his awareness and start/stop speed to avoid tacklers. Possesses good upside and potential.
12. Brennon Lamee, Clovis North, 2021, 6’2 190 lbs.
Lamee is one of the more under recruited prospects in the Central Valley considering his ability and production. As a junior he produced 67 catches for over 900 yards and 9 touchdowns. Possesses the size, speed, and athleticism you look for in a college wide out and consistently displays big play talent. Has a great release off the LOS, especially against tight coverage, with good burst off the ball and separation quickness. He’s a sharp route runner that changes levels smoothly and is savvy creating separation. Plus ball skills and contested catch ability with a large catch radius. He should see his recruiting pick up if he continues on the same trajectory.
13. Nathaniel Williams, Bullard, 2022, 6’3” 180 lbs.
A long and athletic frame at 6’3” 180 lbs. He’s a smooth athlete with quick feet and fluid hips. A strong route runner that shows good footwork and good ability to sell his routes. Shows strong and confident hands with a great ability to track and catch the ball in traffic. Good leaping ability and length allows him to rip jump balls out of the air at the high point. He projects as a high D1 recruit with great upside and potential.
14. Darrien Gaines, Buchanan, 2021, 6’1” 170 lbs.
A complete receiver with a strong and well-rounded skillset. Shows he can stretch the field and be a vertical threat using his speed and acceleration to slip behind the defense. He’s a clean and precise route runner with sharp cuts and speed out of his breaks. Great ability to create separation by manipulating a DB into flipping his hips and transitioning out of his backpedal. Plus body control and sure hands allow him to make difficult catches in traffic. Colleges will like his ability and willingness to block on the outside. Good moves and elusiveness in the open field to gain YAC. Still waiting on that first offer but possesses D1 potential.
15. Willie James, Tulare Union, 2021, 6’1” 165 lbs.
An explosive athlete that plays fast and fluid. Good speed, burst, and lateral agility from the slot. Great hands, he attacks the ball in the air and isn’t afraid to go and get it. Good separation quickness and acceleration at the top of the route and maintains full speed throughout its entirety. Plus top end speed and quickness allows him to stretch the defense vertically or turn short routes into long gains. Has put up great numbers thus far in his career and is looking to build on his recruiting stock.
