Here are some of the top players in Central Texas from the smallest classification of the game.
Kadyn Johnson, Abbott Panthers:
The senior has helped reenergize the 7-0 Panthers in 2020 by making big plays on both sides of the ball in 2020.
Johnson has carried the ball 132 times for 1,899-yards and 42TDs this season. Defensively, Johnson has 52-tackles, 12-sacks, 3-Fumble Recoveries and 1FF.
Davin Barrow, Oglesby Tigers:
Oglesby is 6-1 on the season under first year head coach Jeb Dixon and Barrow has been an intrical part of that success.
Barrow has 90-carries for 1,110-yards and 7TDs. On defense he has 43-tackles, 2INTs and 1FF.
CJ Lanehart, Waco Parkview Christian:
The Pacers have struggled this season with a 2-5 record, but Lanehart has continued to have success.
Lanehart has carried the ball 99 times for 1,007-yards and 11TDs, while throwing for 622-yards and 10TDs. Defensively, he has accumulated 19-tackles, 5TFL, 2-sacks, 2INT and 2 fumble recoveries.
John Fomba, Waco Methodist Children’s Home:
The Bulldogs are 3-2 on the season and a lot of that success has come from junior John Fomba.
Fomba has thrown for 715-yards and 13TDs, while rushing for 568-yards and 5TDs. On defense he has 26-tackles, 2-sacks, 2INTs and 1 fumble recovery.
Walker Nall, Waco Vanguard:
The Vikings are 2-2 on the season and Walker Nall has played a key role in those victories.
Nall has thrown for 704-yards and 9TDs, while rushing for 169-yards and 2TDs. He’s added 5-tackles on defense along with 1FF.
Zach Hafley, Buckholts Badgers:
The Badgers are 2-4 on the season under new head coach Kyle Hauk. Hafley has provided consistency this season for Buckholts and is the leader of the team.
Hafley has thrown for 882-yards and 9TDs, while rushing for 371-yards and 6TDs. Defensively, he had 59-tackles, 2INTs and 3 fumble recoveries.
Brandon Nemelka, Jonesboro Eagles:
Jonesboro is a program rich in tradition and Nemelka joins a long line of Eagles who have put up some outstanding numbers.
The senior has 69-carries for 820-yards and 20TDs so far this season. On defense he has 32-tackles, 1-sack, 1INT and 1FF.
