Jordan Rogers, RB La Vega
Rogers is no stranger to big games and that experience was on full display during the Pirates 42-24 victory over district foe Stephenville.
The senior finished the game with five touchdowns and 322 total yards. Rogers scored two other touchdowns in the game, but both were called back for holding penalties.
Zach Hrbacek, RB Troy
Hrbacek put on a show Friday night against McGregor, but despite his performance the Trojans fell to the Bulldogs 58-57.
He carried the ball 29 times for 367-yards and 7TDs, in a losing effort. Hrbacek has now rushed for 1,740 yards and 31TDs so far this season.
VeAndre McDaniel, QB McGregor
McDaniel has emerged as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in Central Texas this season and that skill set was evident during their 58-57 win over Troy.
The senior was 11 of 20 for 239 passing yards, 2 TDs, 2 2-point conversions, while adding 11 carries for 128 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 2-point conversion run.
Jarrell Wiley, RB Mexia
The Blackcats have changed their offensive scheme this season under new head coach Triston Abron and one player who is benefiting is Jarrell Wiley.
Wiley carried the ball 15 times for 100-yards and 4TDs in their 63-42 district win over Brownsboro on Friday. The senior has rushed for 548-yards and 9TDs so far this season.
Chad Lorenz, RB McGregor
The Bulldogs offense has been really successful this season averaging 46PPG and the fewest points they’ve scored was 33 against Mart.
Lorenz plays a key role in that success and his performance on Friday is a prime example. He had 22 carries for 279 rushing yards, 3 TDs; 3 catches for 78 receiving yards, TD; 2-point conversion catch.
