A linebacker is often expected to assist in stopping the run, covering a receiver on certain plays.  These linebackers are the best in the area.


#1.  Anthony FreemanAnthonyFreeman6'0" | LBNothern Durham | 2021StateNC, 6’0” 215 – Northern Durham HS.  Duke commit displays good lateral movement and covers ground quickly to make the play.  He is a powerful runner who displays good speed in the open field while in offensive backfield.


#2.  Joshua SosanyaJoshuaSosanya6'2" | LBWakefield | 2021StateNC, 6’2” 190 – Wakefield HS.  Wake Forest commit runs well and makes a lot of tackles.  He deflects lots of passes to prevent receptions.


 #3.  Isaiah PipkinIsaiahPipkin6'6" | LBWake Forest | 2021StateNC, 6’6” 220 – Wake Forest HS.  Arizona State commit is a great open field tackler.  He closes in on the ball carrier quickly and is fast.  His physical size enables him to deflect passes to prevent receptions.


#4.  Marcus GatlingMarcusGatling5'11" | LBHavelock | 2021StateNC, 5’11” 200 – Havelock HS.  He displays a quick first–step which enables him to make tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
