Eagle Grove at Emmetsburg
Emmetsburg will be looking to take care of business after suffering its first loss last week to Western Christian.
Seniors Cole Shirk, Ben Dunlap and Lex Kassel lead the E-Hawks.
Shirt has 735 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, Dunlap has thrown for 364 yards with five TDs and four interceptions on defense, and Kassel has 198 yards and two receiving scores.
For the Eagles, freshman Jake Jeske has taken every snap this year, throwing for 201 yards. He also leads the team in rushing.
The winner between Eagle Grove and Emmetsburg faces either Carroll Kuemper or Pocahontas Area next.
Carroll Kuemper at Pocahontas Area
A tough loss in Week 7 to Southeast Valley kept Pocahontas Area from winning the district title. But the bigger picture remains clear for the Indians.
Senior quarterback Trey Oehlertz leads the way with 1,264 yards and 11 passing scores. He also has rushed for 475 yards and eight TDs, with Cole Runneberg adding 751 yards and 11 TDs.
Luke Crosgrove is a name to keep an eye on. The senior has 30 receptions for 578 yards and six scores, averaging over 19 yards per reception.
Luke Hicks and Taye Vonnahme will try to pull the upset for Carroll Kuemper. Hicks has 634 yards passing on 57 of 107 attempts with Vonnahme having rushed for 425 yards.
Emmetsburg or Eagle Grove awaits the winner of this game.
Clarion-Goldfield/Dows at Belmond-Klemme
The Cowboys broke into the win column last week, downing Eagle Grove behind Shane Conlon. The senior has 553 yards passing and six touchdowns.
Neven Foss and Trenton Jergenson lead the ground attack with 292 yards each, as Jergenson has scored seven times. Mateo Martinez and Coady Olson each have over 200 yards receiving.
Tate Sander is Mr. Do-It-All for the Broncos, as the junior has rushed for 796 yards with nine touchdowns. Jordan Meyer has over 500 yards of offense and six scores.
The winner meets Southeast Valley, which received a bye after winning its district.
Sioux Central at South Central Calhoun
Bryan Case and the Titans put the finishing touches on a 5-1 season with a 44-7 victory last week. Since the start of 2015, South Central Calhoun has gone 46-9 including 20-2 the past two seasons.
Blake McAlister and Brennan Holder anchor a ground attack with 1,530 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. McAlister has 638 and nine scores, with Holder adding 308 and five.
Cole Corey has completed 60 percent of his passes for 612 yards and five touchdowns.
The Rebels are a run-first team led by Jayden Harder. The senior has 154 carries for 618 yards and five touchdowns, with Gibson Olson adding 326 and four scores.
Harder also has 68.5 tackles including 59 solo stops and six for loss on defense.
Up next for the winner will be either Jesup or Dike-New Hartford.
