Not much around north-central Iowa for the first round of the Class 3A playoffs this week.

In Pod 2, Humboldt welcomes perennial state contender Sioux City Heelan with Carroll hosting Denison-Schleswig in Pod 1.

Webster City received a bye after a perfect regular season and district title.

The Monarchs will try to reverse the outcome. Carter Wessel has thrown for 433 yards and Jaxson Hildebrand has a team-high 242 yards rushing.

Awaiting the winner will be Sergeant Bluff-Luton, which received a bye.
