1. Jonathon Brooks Jonathon Brooks 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Hallettsville | 2021 TX – Hallettsville High School
Out of Hallettsville, TX, Brooks is a three-star running back who recorded over 1,310 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns last year. He also was productive catching out of the backfield as he also recorded 233 receiving yards in 13 receptions with one touchdown. At the end of his junior season, he also received the District 14-3A D-1 MVP award. In his sophomore year, he received first-team all-district honors. He is currently committed to Texas but also has received offers from Colorado State, Houston Baptist, Louisiana, Texas State, Texas Tech and UTSA.
2. Tavierre Dunlap Tavierre Dunlap 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Del Valle | 2021 TX – Del Valle High School
Dunlap has received multiple Division 1 offers and has not currently committed. The offers include Michigan, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State and California. Dunlap is a three-star running back who received District 25-6A first-team selection last year and was also selected to first-team all-district in his sophomore season. Last year, Dunlap recorded 1,341 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns while also having 20 receptions for 208 yards and three touchdowns. In 2018, Dunlap rushed for 1,449 yards and 17 touchdowns.
3. De’Anthony Lewis De’Anthony Lewis 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Judson | 2021 TX – Judson High School
Speeding out of Converse, Texas is three-star running back Lewis. Lewis had been selected to AP 6A second-team all-state his junior season. in 2019, he rushed for 1,877 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also recorded 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In his sophomore season, he rushed for 493 yards but recorded six touchdowns. He has yet to commit and has received offers from Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Nebraska, Nevada, Tulane, UNLV, USC and UTSA.
4. Cam’Ron Valdez Cam’Ron Valdez 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Rockdalde | 2021 TX – Rockdale High School
He was named District 10-3A-1 Offensive MVP in 2019 and District 10-3A-1 Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2018 and has received multiple Division 1 offers. Valdez rushed for 1,697 yards and 26 touchdowns in his junior season while also having seven receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He was also a force in his sophomore season, recording 1,175 yards and 17 touchdowns while also having eight receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown. His offers include from Arizona State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Utah with many more as well.
The 2020 season has already kicked off for Valdez. In Rockdale’s first game against La Grange, Valdez rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns. In the next game against Taylor, Valdez rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown.
5. Zane Minors Zane Minors 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Westlake | 2021 TX – Westlake High School
Last but not least on this watchlist is Zane Minors Zane Minors 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Westlake | 2021 TX out of Austin, Texas. In his junior season, Minors rushed for 871 yards and 14 touchdowns while also having nine receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown. He has committed to play at Yale but also received offers from Air Force and Lamar. He is agile and if there is enough of a lane to squeeze through to the endzone, then he will manage to score as his highlight tapes show. Westlake is also a force to be reckoned with and Minors will likely be on the frontlines of why the Chaparrals will be this year.
