During this 2020 football season, they are already 4-0, and have defeated teams such as Valdosta High School. During the win against Valdosta, it was the only game in which the team did not score over 50 points. Along with this win, they have stacked wins against Banneker, in which they won 51-0, Dothan, in which the final score was 62-27, and Northside, in which they finished the game with a final score of 63-14. Each of these wins come at no surprise due to the high level of play displayed by the team’s offensive, and defensive players.
On the offensive side of the ball, Xavier Williams is already having a decent season, in which he has thrown for over 840 yards, and averages over 16 yards a pass, all within 4 games of play. With this, Williams also averages over 200 yards a game, and has thrown for 9 TD’s. Williams is also having a strong season on the ground, as he leads the team in rushing, with 159 yards, and 2 TD’s. The only other players producing as much as he is on the ground for Colquitt includes that of Jamaree Hill, who has totaled 145 yards and 3 TD’s, and Charlie Pace, who has rushed for 120 yards and a TD.
Along with this, the team has a large amount of success in the air, as multiple players have already already recorded more than 100 yards. The players who have done so include that of Dijmon Wheeler, Orion Bonner, Charlie Pace, and Le’Meke Brockington. Brockington, who has recorded over 280 yards, and Wheeler, who has totaled over 180, lead the entire group. Brockington also has 5 TD’s, while Wheeler has already recorded 4.
Defensively, Colquitt has also seen a large amount of success this season. In total, the defense has only allowed 51 points all season. They have also recorded around 313 total tackles, in which multiple players have already recorded over 20 tackles. So far, Gamal Wallace has recorded 24 tackles, while Pershaun Fann has recorded 27. Even with this high level of success, Antwan Daniels leads the entire team in tackles, with 29. It does not stop there though, because 11 players have recorded a sack. Some of these players have multiple sacks. This includes Pershaun Fann, Alex Florence, and Vendarion Knighton. Along with sacks, mutiple defensive players have also recorded interceptions. Omarion Daniels leads the team in this category, with 2 picks, while Antonio Spradley, Gamal Wallace, and Jaheim Ward have all recorded 1 of their own. If the team continues to dominate like this defensively, look for Colquitt County to add to their win total, and make a run for the state championship.
