Here are a few standouts from West’s 41-34 win….
Lets start with West Forsyth junior Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA . The 6-foot-4 220-pounder wasn’t perfect, but he was the biggest reason for West’s big comeback. He caught 9 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns, including a two-point conversion that tied the game in the 4th quarter. His 4th down TD and conversion tied the game, and his touchdown catch in double OT was the game-winner. Delp, a top prospect across the country in the 2022 class, also helped play some safety to slow down South Forsyth TE Devin Mcglockton, who torched the Wolverines defense in the first half.
Overall, it was another big game for Delp who made his biggest plays in the game’s biggest moments.
It may have been in a losing effort, but South Forsyth QB Kyle Durham was outstanding. The junior QB threw a long TD bomb on the first play from scrimmage, and only got better from there. He ended the game going 19-31 for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also added 63 rushing yards. We can accurate, showed leadership, mobility, and big-play ability. He’s had an excellent season so far, and he continues to get better and better each week. He should be getting more looks from college programs still looking for their QB in the 2022 class.
Future Georgia Bulldog Dylan Fairchild Dylan Fairchild 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL West Forsyth | 2021 State GA also had a monster game for West Forsyth. The 6-foot-5 300-pound lineman played both tackle and guard for the Wolverines, and he played both really well. He bullied the South Forsyth defensive line all night, opening up giant holes for Wolverine running back Daba Fofana. Fairchild was excellent in pass protection as well, recording multiple pancakes on the night. Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA made the game-winning plays, but Fairchild may have had the best game of anyone when the final whistle blew.
Wolverine running back Daba Fofana had another strong game, thanks to Fairchild and his offensive line. The future Navy running back showed explosion, patience, balance, and big-play ability on Friday night, rushing 23 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns. He’s not the biggest back, but he’s quick, agile, and strong enough to break tackles and push the pile forward.
South Forsyth RB Gavin Morris also had a big game. The junior athlete caught 6 passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns in the loss. He made a giant impact for the War Eagles and has a true knack for the end-zone. He was tough to bring down all night and showed soft hands for a player who primarily plays running back and linebacker.
Other players who made an impact include…
South Forsyth TE Devin Mcglockton
West Forsyth ATH Kobe Haynes
West Forsyth LB Raleigh Herbert
South Forsyth LB Jonathan Haas
