Both teams have gotten off to some poor starts, but this is a cross-town rivalry that should turn into an exciting game. Here are some of the top impact players to watch from both teams.
North Farmington Raiders
Jacob Bousamra Jacob Bousamra 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB North Farmington | 2021 State MI | QB | 2021
Bousamra is one of the state’s more slept on passers. He lacks top shelf arm strength, but he is a good athlete with very good accuracy. He holds a mixture of mostly D2, NAIA, and D3 offers, which includes Siena Heights, Northwood and Lawrence Tech.
Justin Whitehorn Justin Whitehorn 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB North Farmington | 2021 State MI | RB | 2021
Whitehorn is one of the top senior running backs in the entire state. He has good speed with great elusiveness and athleticism for the position. His skill set could make him a dangerous receiving threat out of the backfield at the college level. He holds offers from Davenport and Lawrence Tech, but he is a player that I expect to earn many more.
Jai’Lun Hampton Jai’Lun Hampton 6'6" | 250 lbs | OL North Farmington | 2021 State MI | OL | 2021
Hampton’s lack of recruitment has been a mystery, but it’s surly not due to lack of size or quality play. The senior is incredibly long with the athleticism that college coaches covet. Hopefully someone scoops him up soon because they could be getting a potential hidden gem.
Rashad Green Jr. | DL | 2021
Green is both a solid run defender and pass rusher. He is a bit short for what college coaches are looking for, but he makes up for it with his length, twitchy athleticism and high motor. I’m surprised that he hasn’t picked up any offers yet, but he certainly should be playing somewhere at the next level.
Aaron Rice | WR | 2022
Rice is the best of a solid junior class on North Farmington. He is a big kid (6’4″, 185) and is a quarterbacks best friend due to his large catch radius and good hands. He hasn’t picked up any offers yet, but he has seen some D1 interest and I won’t be surprised if that interest turns into offers by the end of this season.
Farmington Falcons
Jacob Sanders Jacob Sanders 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB Farmington | 2022 MI | RB | 2022
Sanders is one of the top junior prospects in this game. He is an undersized player, but he is lighting quick and can hit top speed in a hurry. He has received a bunch of D1 interest so far and I’m interested to see if he can pick up a D1 offer this season.
Ejiro Oghoufo Ejiro Oghoufo 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Farmington | 2021 State MI | DB | 2021
Oghoufo is one of two top 2021 defensive backs in this game. He is a little short, but he is a solid athlete that runs well and can cover. He holds one offer from Bluffton, but hopefully he can put together a great performance against a talented North Farmington receiving core and gain more offers as a result.
Anthony Grandberry Anthony Grandberry 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Farmington | 2021 State MI | OL | 2021
Grandberry is one of the best kept secrets in the state. He is a great athlete for the position and moves really well in space. He holds no offers right now, which is surprising for a player with his size, length and athleticism. He will be a steal for someone when the cycle ends.
Julian Ama Julian Ama 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Farmington | 2021 State MI | DB | 2021
Ama is the second top defensive back on this Farmington team. I really like his length and I think he could translate to either corner or free safety at the next level. He holds one offer from Valparaiso, but he is a player that should be seeing much more than that soon.
Andrew Ojemudia | RB/DB | 2021
The brother of Denver Broncos’ defensive back Michael Ojemudia, Andrew is a player with solid speed and athleticism that can play both ways. He has one offer from Aurora, but I think he will see more offers as he continues to get more film to college coaches.
*Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9th at Farmington.
