Continue ReadingArizona QB’s were dropping dimes Friday night, as they put up some ridiculous numbers all across the board. The QB talent in Arizona is unreal, and these guys ready to compete with anyone. Take a look at the top 5 QB’s from week 3:
Ty Thompson Ty Thompson 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Mesquite | 2021 State AZ , Mesquite High School (C/O 2021)
Thompson continues to prove why he is an elite QB by throwing for 465 yards and 5 TD’s while adding another 2 TD’s on the ground against ALA Queen Creek. He slung about an 85 yard TD on a post to his outside receiver that made a huge statement. The Oregon commit displayed phenomenal mechanics with a great football IQ. He has great arm strength with excellent velocity, but knows when to zip it or use touch. On one of his rushing TD’s, I was very impressed with his speed as he was able to scramble away and take it 65 yards to the house, dusting DB’s.
Kai Millner Kai Millner 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Higley | 2021 State AZ , Higley High School ( C/O 2021)
The Cal commit got loose Friday night with 471 yards and 5 TD’s against Desert Ridge. Millner stepped up in the pocket well and showed toughness as he wasn’t afraid to sit there and take a hit after a throw. He was not rattled by pressure and was able to deliver accurate throws all night. He has a very quick release with excellent touch. He sells play action well as he was able to connect with his slot receiver on a play action vert for an 89 yard TD with ease. Millner showed excellent poise all game which kept the Higley offense rolling to snag another W.
Jadon Hanzal, Valley Christian High School (C/O 2021)
Hanzal popped off for 313 yards and 7 TD’s against Winslow, which set a school record for TD’s in a game. Hanzal does a good job of getting depth on his drop backs and displays good torque while throwing. He has an excellent deep ball trajectory which made it easy for his receivers to go get it. His trajectory also played a huge role in his ability to throw receivers open. He showed flashes of being able to scramble out of pressure but showed to be a solid pocket passer.
Gavin Limongello, Apache Junction High School (C/O 2023)
The sophomore lit it up with 356 yards and 6 TD’s in a 52-29 win against Estrella Foothills. He was able to step up an go toe-to-toe with Estrella Foothills standout Ty Perry, and has made a name for himself in Arizona. Limongello leads a young Apache Junction team and holds massive potential as he already shows signs of maturity 3 weeks into his Sophomore season. His athleticism is huge, as he is developing into a solid dual-threat prospect.
Richard Stallworth, Yuma Catholic High School (C/O 2023)
Stallworth aired it out on 38 attempts for 481 yards and 7 TD’s, which accounted for all of Yuma Catholic’s TD’s in a 49-12 win over Wickenburg. Unfortunately, there is no film on Stallworth or Yuma Catholic, which prevents an evaluation of Stallworth. However, the sophomore does deserve a spot on this list due to the massive numbers he put up, and should be an interesting prospect to follow going forward.
