Valdosta vs. Lowndes:
One of the biggest rivalries in the entire state of Georgia takes place this weekend in South Georgia as the 2-1 Wildcats of Valdosta host the undefeated 4-0 Vikings of Lowndes. Valdosta head coach Rush Propst will be without star QB Jake Garcia who was ruled ineligible last week, and the offense suffered in a 24-10 loss last week to Colquitt County. Valdosta will have their hands full again this weekend as they go up against four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown Jacurri Brown 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Lowndes | 2022 State GA . The junior is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in his class and is hoping to lead the Vikings to a state championship. Losing Jake Garcia will make it tough, but in this rivalry, anything can happen.
North Cobb at North Gwinnett:
In one of the biggest matchups in North Georgia, we’ll see a Cobb vs. Gwinnett matchup as the young North Cobb Warriors travel east to take on the powerhouse North Gwinnett Bulldogs. The Warriors will be led by sophomore QB Malachi Singeton, a big, bruising dual-threat quarterback who is having an outstanding second season. He’s led the Warriors to a 4-0 start and a win over 3-2 North Gwinnett will show the state how good they really are. It won’t be easy as the Bulldogs are led by outstanding four-star linebacker, Barrett Carter Barrett Carter 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB North Gwinnett | 2021 State GA . The Clemson commitment is a true sideline to sideline defender who will likely spy Singleton throughout the night. This game will be fun to watch for anyone in the area.
Mill Creek at Grayson:
The Grayson Rams look for real. Ranked as one of the top teams in the entire country, the Rams have proved to be just that with a 4-0 start thanks to an elite defensive unit. They have led three of their first four opponents to under 14 points and have a chance to do it again against a Mill Creek team who escaped with a win last week against West Forsyth. Sophomore defensive back Caleb Downs Caleb Downs 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mill Creek | 2023 State GA has 5-star potential and will look to lock down Grayson’s playmakers on offense. A few players to know in this game include Rams RB Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA , a Clemson commitment, Rams DB Michael Daugherty Michael Daugherty 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Grayson | 2023 State GA , and of course Mill Creek athlete, Caleb Downs Caleb Downs 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mill Creek | 2023 State GA .
McEachern at Milton:
It hasn’t been the best year for either teams so far, especially for McEachern, but it seems like they’ve gotten things back on track. Can they turn the season around after their 2-3 start? They’ll have to prove it against a tough Milton team who is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Cedar Grove. The Eagles need to bounce back in a big way, so this is a big matchup for both teams. Both programs are loaded with talent and aren’t used to winning. The winner of this game could see their season completely turn around, while a loss would be a giant blow. This should be a fun, close matchup to keep an eye on this weekend.
