Continue ReadingWe’re about halfway through the Wisconsin 2020 high school football season, and although that unfortunately means the season is halfway done, it also means that college coaches, recruiters, and passionate high school football fans get to watch and consume the awesome “Midseason Highlights” posted by prospects. There’s little that excites me as much as new and current highlight tapes, so I wanted to breakdown and analyze the midseason tapes I found on Twitter from Wisconsin preps of all ages and from all over the state. As a bonus treat, I denoted some of my favorite plays I came across while watching tape as well. Thanks for reading!
Jaxson Retrum (Lake Mills) 6’4, 175 lbs. WR. @JaxsonRetrum Has recorded 25 catches for 408 yards and 5 TDs and a 2pt conversion. With ideal size for the position, Retrum knows how to use it, as he made some impressive and thrilling plays through the first two weeks. With good ball skills and quick feet at the LOS, he’s a handful to deal with for DBs. He’s got good, strong hands that help him reel in contested catches. He is also tough to bring down after the catch, and is overall an intriguing prospect at the position. Midseason Highlights
Jackson Trudgeon (Edgewood) 6’1, 175 lbs. 2022. GPA 3.86 @jaxtrudgeon WR/DB. I loved Trudgeon’s loose hips on the first play of his tape in which he recorded an INT in the middle of the field as a safety, caught the ball at it’s highest point, then broke left for the sideline and all the way to the house. As a WR his hips help him to be a shifty route-runner, and he shows nice concentration when making catches and tracking the ball. He’s also physical, both as a WR after the catch and as a tackler, and he runs the alley really impressively. As a college prospect I think he’d make for a great safety. Midseason Hudl
Tate Huss Tate Huss 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Little Chute | 2021 State WI (Little Chute) 6’1, 185 lbs. WR/FS. @tate_huss Huss is straight-up dangerous with the ball in his hands. He does a great job of keeping his body from revealing where he is going to cut, and his vision and strength when exploding off of his plant foot when cutting is fun to watch. As a FS I love his range and ability to flip his head around to speed-turn when locating the ball. He can cover some ground in the MOF (middle of the field) and that speed also translates to his game at the WR position, where he call pull away from defenders and get under the ball nicely. He’s got good hands too, and could play WR or DB successfully at the college level. Midseason
Kameron Lee Kameron Lee 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Indian Trail | 2021 State WI (Indian Trail) 6’3, 200 lbs. WR. @lee_kameron I got to see Lee in action during Week 1 of the regular season against Oak Creek, and he’s filled out and without doubt passes the eye test. I would have guessed that Indian Trail would be more of a potent offense at this point in the season, but either way Lee is an explosive and special prospect that coaches shoudl pay attention to. He’s strong after the catch and shows an ability to break his hips down and run some good routes. He’s also physical enough for the Hawks to put at TE to help in the run game, so although Indian Trail is somewhat underperforming there’s a ton to like in his game. Midseason Highlights
Lajarrion Griffin (Waukesha South) 6’1, 225 lbs. RB/DE. @lil_jarri At 230ish pounds it’s really hard to not be intrigued when I see that that recruit plays RB, and the first play of his midseason Hudl lives up to all of the hype. A blitzing LB is met by a Griffin playing pass-pro at RB, and is basically upended and body slammed into the turf. You don’t see that everyday. He’s a load of a blocker as RB, and the first minute of his highlight tape is him blocking from the backfield. From that alone I believe that he would be down to play FB in college, but his apparent athletic ability makes me believe he could play DE in college. However, if someone needs a FB please hit him up. Midseason
Jackson Hunter Jackson Hunter 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Oconomowoc | 2021 State WI (Oconomowoc) 6’5, 250 lbs. OL. GPA 3.75 @jacksonjhunter – I like Hunter’s feet at the OL position, and he’s got great size and is a good athlete for his height and weight. His length make him dangerous in run-blocking and pass-pro, and he makes sure to finish his blocks whenever he’s given the chance. He also has made a splash at DL, but I think he’s make for a great collegiate OL who can play some scholarship ball. Midseason Hudl
Quinn Taege Quinn Taege 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Freedom | 2021 State WI (Freedom) 6’3, 210 lbs. DE/TE. @QuinnTaege – An accomplished DE and TE last season, Taege moves like a WR but is filled out like a TE on film despite weighing around 210 lbs. He made some big time plays so far this season that got his sideline pumped up, so I know Freedom really relies on him to make big plays when needed. He’s plays strong and is sturdy in his gap from the DE position, and is a violent tackler who uses a strong lower body to defeat blocks. He would make for a really dynamic and versatile TE at the next level. Games 1-4
Alex Current Alex Current 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Muskego | 2021 State WI (Muskego) 5’11, 180 lbs. RB. GPA 3.67 @AlexCurrent2021 The Muskego product is lightning fast and incredibly hard to corral in the open field. His top end speed and burst are unmatched, and he made multiple 50+ yard runs in the first four games of the season for Muskego. Right now he only has DII offers, but I really think he could play FCS ball in the Missouri Valley. He’s special with the ball in his hands. First 4 of 2020
Jack Martens Jack Martens 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Cumberland | 2021 State WI (Cumberland) 5’11, 180 lbs. WR. GPA 4.0 @Jack2Martens Though four games he’s totaled 39 catches for 448 yards and 8 TDs and one INT for a TD. One of the state’s best senior WRs and one of my favorite to win the WR of the year award, Martens has been almost unguardable so far this season. I know I just talked about speed in my last analysis, but holy cow Martens is fast. Like, really really fast. His first couple highlights are him burning DBs who are starting 6-10 yards off the LOS, and there isn’t a lot of other WRs in the state who look like Martens on film, if any. Check him out. He’s a deep threat and a danger to score every play. Weeks 1-4
Parker Prahl (Iola-Scandinavia) 6’4, 180 lbs. GPA 4.0. 2022. @ParkerPrahl – Playing QB, Prahl has a truck-stick and a great athlete at the position. He can run a read-option well, but also has a strong arm and can throw a dime if needed. I really like watching him run the ball though, as he’s incredibly physical with a mean stiff-arm and a strong lower body that helps him run through weaker tackle attempts. There’s a ton of positions he could play in college, but he’d be an excellent OLB and is a good looking 2022 recruit. Midseason Highlights
Kraig Armstrong III (Mauston) 5’9, 180 lbs. RB. @Kstrong24 The first play of Armstrong III’s highlights features a dirty juke, and the rest of the tape shows a smooth runner who covers ground efficiently with big steps and good vision. I like RBs that are a little shorter and thicker, and it helps Armstrong III as he runs hard and is always is the low man at the point of contact. Midseason Hudl
Dylan Brown (Homestead) 6’3, 185 lbs. SS/WR. GPA 3.3 @dylanbrown1925 In four games has recorded 25 tackles and 3 PBUs. First play of his Hudl shows a long-striding safety who can get to the sideline and lay the wood when he gets there. He’s most comfortable in run support, and is patient when anticipating where ball-carriers are going to be when he gets there. He finishes his tackles well and is capable of hitting a ball-carrier higher up (helpful in goal line situations) or lower in the open field. He’s also got a great frame and could play in the box in college if needed. Midseason
Joe Ollman (Homestead) 6’1, 200 lbs. RB/KR. 2022 @joeollman42 Has recorded 559 yards and 7 TDs thus far this season. Possesses impressive speed and burst and with his size makes for a really tough runner to bring down. He does a good job of anticipating where the hole is going to be and follows his blocks well, and showed a knack for returning kicks as well. There were a few runs already this season where he was a tackle away from breaking long TD runs, so his stats really could have been higher already. He’s a fine looking 2022 recruit 2020 Midseason
Stefon Mitchell Stefon Mitchell 5'11" | 185 lbs | DB Bradford | 2022 State WI (Indian Trail) 6’, 190 lbs. DB. 2022. @MitchellStefon Has recorded 28 tackles, 2 PBUs, 1 FF through the season so far. I got to see Mitchell play live in person as well, and heard his name called by the announcer all night long thanks to his love of helping out in run-support. Like many of his teammates, he’s a versatile and well-built recruit. He lined up in the slot, as a safety, and occasionally at the perimeter, and is an instinctual and physical player. He’s got some good football ahead of him. First 3 Games
Maddux Allen (Cumberland) 5’11, 175 lbs. QB. 2022. @allen_maddux Thus far has thrown 69-81 (85% completion percentage) with 12 TDs to 0 INTs. His strong arm and efficient footwork help him to throw the deep ball as well as more difficult out-breaking routes, and I like his quick release and seemingly natural ability to drop the ball right in the bread basket, especially on deep balls. He can run the ball too if needed. Weeks 1-4 Junior year
Paris Roby (Kenosha Bradford) 6’3, 286 lbs. OL/DL. 6’3, 286 lbs. @ParisRoby1 I really like what I saw from Roby as an IOL prospect. His hand-placement and leg drive combine for a violent blocker who enjoys putting people into the turf. If he gets you off balance he has no problem throwing you as well, and I like his hips and feet – which help him work well to the second level as well. First 3 Games
Ethan Neils Ethan Neils 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Germantown | 2021 State WI (Germantown) 6’1, 225 lbs, LB. @Ethan_nails28 Has tallied 57 tackles in 4 games so far this season. I really liked Neils’ first two plays of his senior midseason tape, as he shoved a blocker 5 yards back into the QB for a sack and then had a violent KO tackle that showed him sending a second-line blocker 2 yards back onto his butt and then making a big collision on the returner who had a head start already. His impressive KO coverage really made me like his tape, as it’s hard not to like a special teams grinder who revels in KO hits and will run balls to the wall 50 yards down the field with no regards to his body. Neils is a really strong tackler and flies around on the field with a love for contact and no qualms about sacrificing his body to make a play. He has a strong pop when engaging blockers and is explosive when rushing the passer. Midseason Highlights
Jeremyah Garland (Wauwatosa West) 6’, 215 lbs. DL/TE. @GarlandJeremyah An undersized TE who plays forcefully and makes up with his lack of size with strength and effort, Garland does an excellent job of continuing to look for work and finishing his blocks once he’s got hands on. I think he’d make for a nice looking DL prospect at the next leve. First 4 Senior Year
Keany Parks (Kenosha Bradford) 5’10, 160 lbs. WR/SS. 2023. @KapalottK Has recorded 27 rushes for 181 yards and 2 TDs with 16 receptions for 161 yards and 1 TD. A really dynamic and intriguing 2023 prospect, Parks can hurt ya as a rusher or in the passing game, and has breakaway speed in the open field and a strong lower body with an ability to slip through weaker tackle attempts. He hits holes hard as a rusher and once he finds daylight can turn on another gear. As a WR he’s really capable after the catch and is tough to locate in the open field. Weeks 1-4 sophomore
Blake Siebert (Cumberland) 6’4, 220 lbs. OLB/DE. @BlakeSiebert11 A stand-up edge-defender who is a solid tackler and locates the ball well, I like his fundamentals out on the edge and the way he extends his arms to keep his eye on the ball is nice to se too. Weeks 1-4 junior
Curtis Jaskulke Curtis Jaskulke 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Stoughton | 2021 State WI (Stoughton) 6’3, 210 lbs. DE/TE. GPA 3.9 @CurtisJasulke The Stoughton product is capable of playing all over the DL and is extremely hard to move for his size. Once he gets ahold of a ball-carrier that kid is going down too. He makes sure to put a hit on the QB and finish him into the ground when given the chance, and is a high energy and high-effort player. He’d be a productive college DE. Midseason Hudl
Brice Shimon (Osseo-Fairchild) 5’11, 170 lbs. QB/WR/DB . @Bshimon3 – Shimon is a great athlete at the QB position who thrives when things break down and he needs to improvise. He can scramble and lengthen plays with his legs, and can get it down in the throwing department if he needs to. His elusiveness and vision in the open field are also impressive. He also played some defense and forced a fumble on a big hit in the secondary. I think he’d make for an excellent DB or WR at the next level, and he could even possibly play some RB. Any triple option collegiate teams could really benefit from his skill-set as well. Weeks 1-4
Owen Marnell (Hudson) 6’2, 190 lbs. OLB. GPA 4.05 . 2022 @OwenMarnell – Really good at using his hands to disengage from blocks and is a high-motor player with the speed to do some damage off the edge. He’s got a great frame to add a ton more weight in the future. Shows some good discipline when attacking option offenses as well. Weeks 1-4 Highlights
Ethan Ivan (Wilmont Union) 6’2, 300 lbs. DT/OC. 2022. @TheEthanIvan1 – The first play of his Hudl is something, as he drove the opposing OL 5 yards back from the DT position and right onto the guys butt. I really like his game as a DT, as he explodes off the line and plays with good pad level for his size. He’s got some good speed for 300 lbs. too, and makes sure to lay a hurtin’ on ball-carriers when he gets ahold of them. He’s impressive at beating double teams as well from what I can see on film. Game 1/2 Highlights
Adrian Thomas (Nicolet) 6’4, 180 lbs. WR/DB. 2024 . @7adrianthomas – COACHES: FBS RECRUIT ALERT!!!! Thomas is a long and fluid athlete who made some impressive plays from both sides of the ball, including INTs, TD catches, and big hits. He does not play like a freshman playing his first high school season, and his coaches have already lined him up all over the field at different WR positions and at S and CB. I like his feet as well, as he has a smooth backpedal, gets out his brakes well, and cuts well when running routes. You’ll be hearing more about Thomas soon! First 3 Games
Grover Bortolotti Grover Bortolotti 5'10" | 185 lbs | DB Whitefish Bay | 2021 State WI (Whitefish Bay) 5’11, 185 lbs. DB/RB/LS . @GroverBortolo3 – I got to scout Bortlotti live this year, and he had one of the most impressive performances I’ve seen this season in-person. He’s totaled 31 tackles, 2 INT, 4 PBUs, 1 FF, and 668 all-purpose yards with 6 TDs so far this season. He was moved to FB this year, and has been a force as a ball-carrier, but I think he projects better as a collegiate safety. He’s really strong when operating in open space as a tackler, and is patient when tracking the hips of ball-carriers and uses strong pursuit angles when running down ball-carriers. He runs the alley well and explodes through contact. I also like how he plays the ball in the air from his DB spot. He’s got good hips and feet as well. I just love how he smacks you. As a RB he plays the same way, as he’s physical and a strong runner who explodes through contact with a mean truck stick. He’s got a fun tape to watch. Midseason
Mac Strand Mac Strand 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Xavier | 2021 State WI (Xavier) 6’2.5, 220 lbs. LB/FB/LS. @MacStrand – Strand included his career stats through three and a half seasons varsity football, and it’s impressive to say the least. His career totals thus far included 192 rushes for 1,015 yards w/ 15 TDs, 34 catches for 308 yards w/ 6 TDs, and on defense has totaled 398 tackles, 70 TFLs, and 19 sacks. His midseason tape is filled with truck sticks and QBs getting crushed. He’s got to be one of the least fun RBs to tackle in the state, as he kicks his knees high and keeps the legs pumping, and can get his pads low to deliver a ton of pop in his shoulders as well. He’s also a nice looking LS prospect. No wonder he’s ranked so high in the state. Senior Midseason Highlights
Avery Kurth (Slinger) 6’, 190 lbs. DB/RB. @AveryKurth – Kurth has a sweet opening two plays of his sophomore highlight tape as he starts off with a run that ends with a mean stiff-arm and a truck-stick, and follows it up with a pick-six. He’s a nice looking safety prospect who is patient in his backpedal, has good speed to stay with deep receivers, and plays the ball well. He’s a strong tackler as well. Midseason Hudl
Ashton Beers (Slinger) 6’5, 290 lbs. OL. 2022. @beers_ashton – Beers is a huge junior OL prospect, and man handles opposing DL with crushing hands and good use of leverage. He’s a really proficient run-blocker. He’s mobile though, and has nimble feet and good lateral agility to help himself as a puller or with his pass-pro. Junior year Midseason
Preston Chamberlain (Tremper) WR. Recorded 24 catches for 222 yards in 3 games. As a WR he’s got some quick feet and can breakdown his hips and stop/cut quickly to help run a variety of different routes. He runs some mean double-moves too, has good hands and nice concentration, and doesn’t mind making contested catches. Highlights
Nicholas Jorndt Nicholas Jorndt 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Whitefish Bay | 2022 State WI (Whitefish Bay) 6’, 205 lbs. LB/RB. 2022. @nickjorndt – Jorndt is a nice looking LB prospect who is strong and explosive when tackling and finding the ball-carrier. He’s patient when locating the ball, which makes me think he’s good at reading his keys, and when he finds the ball he triggers on that thing like nobodies business. He bursts through the LOS when getting after the QB, and is long with a great frame to keep adding on strength. I also likes how he flies around and does a good job or wrapping up ball-carriers and stopping their progress. I really enjoy how he navigates and sifts through traffic and congestion though, and when he’s got a free lane to get to the ball he makes the most of it. Midseason Highlights
Mason Wiesner Mason Wiesner 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Manawa | 2021 State WI (Manawa Little Wolf) 6’3, 195 lbs. QB/CB/P. GPA 3.45 @WiesnerMason – Nice sized prospect who covers a lot of groudn when he runs and is a threat with his legs and when throwing deeper balls. He’s really elusive in the pocket and when out in open space, and his height makes him a good combination of strong and shifty when running the rock. I don’t think he projects as a QB at the next level, but he’s so fun to watch with the ball in his hands that I think he’d make a nice WR in college. Weeks 1-2 Weeks 3-4
Clayton Schwalbe Clayton Schwalbe 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Waukesha North | 2021 State WI (Waukesha North) 6’3, 230 lbs. TE/OLB. GPA 4.02 @ClaytonSchwalb1 – Has so far totaled 6 receptions for 96 yards and 2 TDs. A tremendous collegiate prospect who is still very much uncommitted, and in three games he’s made his presence known with destructive blocks as a TE and big hits defensively. For 230 lbs. he moves well as a receiver and has good hips as well, and shows nice hops when locating the ball in the air. He showed some really impressive hands on a great catch over the middle where the ball was thrown behind him, and he jumped up to snag the ball with defenders all over him. He’s a truck after the catch too. I think he’s a fantastic collegiate TE prospect and could play some D1 ball successfully if given the right opportunity. Midseason Highlights
Allen Torian (Living Word Lutheran) 6’3, 210 lbs. DL/OL. 2022. @AllenTorian22 – Torian is strong his size, and gets out of his stance with a lot of power and force. He absolutely leveled a kid as a front line KOR defender, and always makes sure that opposing OL don’t have an easy time trying to block him. His best days of football are still in front of him. First 3 Games
Michael Hankinson Michael Hankinson 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI (Brookfield Central) 6’1, 175 lbs. CB/WR. 2022. @michaelhankin10 – The junior has some serious speed at the DB position, and the first play of his Hudl is a great one as he makes a TD saving tackle inside the redzone where he basically went from the opposite sideline to track down a jet-sweep type play and made a great tackle on the ball-carrier. As a WR he has no problem going over the middle and making contested catches, but it’s most fun to watch him tackle and run down ball-carriers. He could play safety or corner at the next level, and do it well. Junior Midseason
Marcus Mbow Marcus Mbow 6'5" | 310 lbs | OL Wauwatosa East | 2021 State WI (Wauwatosa East) 6’5, 300 lbs. OL. @MarcusMbow – The former Arizona State commit is a mauler, and his senior year tape shows a rare OL talent from the very first play. He raced 40 yards down the field to get in-front of a run to the opposite sideline from his LT position. There aren’t many 300+ lbers. who can get down the field like that, and his tremendous strength at the position makes him a nasty and punishing lineman with a really high ceiling. He’s tremendous at finishing blocks, getting lineman and LBs he’s going to block or already blocking off-balance, and he’s a brickwall in pass-pro despite his feet not staying active all the time. You can tell he isn’t satisfied until he’s put the guy in front of him in the turf, and his upside is out of this world. Whatever FBS programs nabs his commitment is getting a stud. First Three Games
Malachi Munoz Malachi Munoz 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Sheboygan Falls | 2021 State WI (Sheboygan Falls) 6’4, 260 lbs. OL. @MalachiMunoz3 – Munoz was recently named a Midwest Sleeper HM nod from our National Scouting Director Jake Lemming, and his senior tape is really fun to watch as he’s a devastating puller and is really light on his feet for 265 lbs. He’s got some great speed for his size and is constantly looking for work, and once he makes contact he gets his feet going really fast. He’s a beast. Weeks 1-3
M. Bryant Petska (Chippewa Falls) 6’6, 290 lbs. OL. 2022. GPA 4.0 @BryantPetska – This season Petska has had to move inside from OT to OG, and he’s looked good so far as he makes it look easy to put players into the ground, and his feet stay really active when blocking. He’s strong too, and looks light on his feet for almost 300 pounds. Junior Year midseason
Michael Stenbroten (Lake Mills) 6’3, 195 lbs. S/WR. 2022. GPA 3.79. @Michae1sten – As a WR Stenbroten confirms on tape why he’s a future D1 athlete, as he’s the fastest player on the field when he plays and almost glides across the turf as he runs, covering a lot of ground with each step. He lined up as the X WR, in the slot, and as a TE, and made big plays from every position with his hands and his feet. He even returns punts, and shows off his tremendous vision, overall speed, and burst. He’s most exciting after the catch, and is a great looking D1 2022 prospect. Junior midseason
Ray Zuleger Ray Zuleger 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Xavier | 2021 State WI (Xavier) 6’, 175 lbs. QB/DB GPA 3.5 @ray_zuleger – So far this season he’s passed 20-37, 493 yards, and 8 passing TDs. Also has rushed 9.7 YPC, 496 rushing yards, and 9 rushing TDs. A mobile QB who is accurate when on the run, he really shines as a ball-carrier as his vision and speed make him dangerous. As a thrower he has some really nice touch, and he can make throws on all three levels of the field. I love watching him run that rock too. midseason tape
Brady Frey Brady Frey 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Brookfield East | 2022 State WI (Brookfield East) 6’, 270 lbs. OL/DL. GPA 3.464 2022 @BradyFrey4477 – A thick lineman who is versatile and strong and can be disruptive as a DT or punishing on the OL. Good run-blocker. midseason JR tape
Bryce Taylor (Menomonee Falls) 6’, 260 lbs. DL. 2022. @brycetaylorr – Has recorded 15 tackles, 3 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 FF. Can get down the LOS in a hurry and has a great ability to pursue for a DL at 260 pounds. He’s got a strong rip and can show some good bend off the edge. His hands are always active and he has a good variety of moves to disengage from blockers and get to the ball. There’s a lot to like in his game. Midseason Highlight
Trenton Smith (Brookfield Central) 6’, 330 lbs. DT. 2022. @Trenton13098825 – A massive DL prospect, Smith uses his 330 lb. frame well and moves laterally well while still possessing the brute strength to throw would-be blockers off of him. Made some big plays from the middle of the DL and has the ability to take over the LOS if needed. Hard for double-teams to contain as well. First 4 of 2020
Drew Jurack Drew Jurack 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Mukwonago | 2021 State WI (Mukwonago) 6’, 180 lbs. DB. GPA 3.4. @d_jurack25 – Has recorded 30 tackles and 1 interception so far this season. Made a beautiful break on the ball as a safety for the first play of his tape, and it really showed off his feet and ability to read and break down on routes even when gaining depth. Also runs the alley well and is an explosive tackler who lights up ball-carriers. He’s patient when finding the ball in run-support. He’s got a smooth backpedal as well. Senior midseason
Billy Howard Billy Howard 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Menomonee Falls | 2021 State WI (Menomonee Falls) 6’2, 215 lbs. LB/FB. @Billy_Howard24 – Has recorded 46 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 FF, 1 INT. Fires out of his LB stance impressively, and when he gets a full head of steam going he’s really tough to block or move off his path. Reacts well to crossing routes in coverage, which helped him record a crazy INT that I barely knew how it got in his hands. It’s really fun to watch him trigger on the ball, and his sideline to sideline speed helps him to make plays all over the field. He’s a three down LB who can cover, blitz, and stick his nose in a gap to make a tackle, and at 215 lbs. he’s a force to try and stop or to break his tackle. I really like what I see and am a little surprised he doesn’t have more NSIC offers. Weeks 1-4
Michael Dinaso Michael Dinaso 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Tremper | 2021 State WI (Tremper) 5’11, 180 lbs. DB. @MichaelDinaso5 – Good safety who can lay the wood and does a good job of getting around the ball. He’s impressive in man-coverage as well, always an asset at safety. Strong tackler. First 3 Weeks
Alex Eichmann (Hamilton) 6’3, 185 lbs. QB/RB/WR. 2022. @AlexEichmann5 – Makes for a versatile and big prospect with good hands and concentration and the lower-body strength to slip through weaker tackle attempts. He’s a tough receiver who doesn’t mind going over the middle and is deceptively fast in burning CBs on deep routes. Midseason
Nick Blatnik Nick Blatnik 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Arrowhead | 2022 State WI (Arrowhead) 6’3, 255 lbs. DL/OL. 2022 @NickBlatnik – Nice sized DL prospect who is a good tackler and strong. Weeks 3-4 highlights
Aidan Enneking Aidan Enneking 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Sussex Hamilton | 2021 State WI (Hamilton) 6’4, 235 lbs. TE. GPA 3.9, ACT 32. @AidanEnneking – Our #3 ranked TE has shown big-play ability as a pass-catcher so far this year, and has a good amount of plays designed to get him the ball in the Chargers offense. He’s got great concentration and is a tough kid, and is a technically sound blocker with no hesitation to stick his face in the run-support game. Also has a great frame and looks quite lean for 235, so he’s got a lot more room to add weight if need be. Midyear Highlight
Cam Devine Cam Devine 6'3" | 220 lbs | RB Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI (Brookfield Central) 6’4, 225 lbs. LB/RB. GPA 3.81 @cam44devine – Has recorded 85 rushes for 422 yards and 3 TDs, 10 receptions for 74 yards and a passing TD. I was especially excited to watch Devine’s midseason tape, and it did not disappoint as the massive RB showed surprisingly good vision, patience, and slipperyness for a rusher of his size. He also has some nice burst for 225 lbs., and absolutely eats up the first attempt at contact. There is a wide variety of positions he could play at the next level, and whatever he ends up as he’s going to be good at it. Midseason Highlight
Ethan Boxley Ethan Boxley 6'2" | 245 lbs | OL Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI (Brookfield Central) 6’2, 245 lbs. OL/DL. 2022. @BoxleyEthan – Does a great job of playing with his hands inside and is a dangerous and effective puller who has a lot of pop in his 240 lb. frame. Also laterally quick and used that to his advantage as DL. Midseason
Khalin Jackson Khalin Jackson 5'8" | 270 lbs | DL Menomonee Falls | 2021 State WI (Menomonee Falls) 5’8, 270 lbs. DL. @khalinjackson40 – A faster DLineman capable of beating blockers with his speed, he’s recorded 20 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 2 sacks so far this season. Great tackler and pursuer who eats up space for ball-carriers to maneuver in the open-field. He’d make for a really productive DIII DT. Midseason Hudl
Colin Heckman Colin Heckman 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Menomonee Falls | 2021 State WI (Menomonee Falls) 6’1, 205 lbs. OLB/TE. @colin_heckman – Has recorded 20 tackles, 4 TFLs, 4 sacks, and 5 catches for 50 yards and a TD. A really strong player for 205 lbs. who is tough to block and deceivingly hard to bring down as a TE, Heckman triggers on the ball well flies around when making tackles. As a TE he’s a great pass-catcher and blocker, and could play many different spots at the next level. Midseason
Barinder Monatta (Brookfield Central) 6’1, 295 lbs. OL. @SwaggyBarinder – In his first four games Monatta has put a lot of kids into the turf, as his low center of gravity and quick feet make him tough to engage with out on the edge or between the tackles. He’s an effective puller, and his understanding of leverage helps him to toss lineman to the ground seemingly with ease. He’s not passive in pass-pro, which I always like, and he’s crushing once he gets his hands inside. Midseason Highlights
Matt Wagner (Kettle Moraine) 6’1, 180 lbs. WR/DB. GPA 3.95. 2022. @m_wagz11 – Has totaled 17 catches for 269 yards and 2 TDs so far this season. Wagner is tricky with his feet when running routes, and he’s a tough possession receiver who can always hurt defenses over the top. I like his route-running abilities, as I see some subtle nuances such as head fakes and the ability to stack his DB, but he also made some big-time difficult catches where he has had to lay out or where a defender is draped all over him. He’s got some great hands and is a nice looking 2022 WR prospect. Week 1-3 Highlights
Tate Pitcher Tate Pitcher 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2021 State WI (Somerset) 6’1, 180 lbs. QB/LB/DB. GPA 3.5 @iamtatepitcher – Really nicely built for 6’1, 180 lbs., Pitcher has played a ton of positions already for Somerset and has been especially dangerous as a QB running the ball. He’s a strong runner who makes deceptive cuts and makes sure to finish his runs hard and with contact. He’s a special combination of speed and strength, and can cut on a dime if needed to. Once he finds daylight he’s gone, and watching him keep his legs pumping though contact and watching him slip through tacklers grasps is a good time. He could play a ton of different positions at the college level. Midseason
Quantell Booker Quantell Booker 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Sussex Hamilton | 2021 State WI (Hamilton) 5’10, 175 lbs. RB/ATH. ACT 21. @Quantell4 – One of the most explosive players on this list, Booker is a straight up playmaker who is light on feet and has many different gears that help him to keep moving fast without looking like he’s even hit top speed. He’s also got good hands out of the backfield, and does a great job of naturally working to open space to get open. He’s got a mean jump cut too. Midseason Tape
Colby Horn (Hamilton) 6’5, 220 lbs. DL. GPA 3.1. 2022 . @Colby_horn – I got to see Horn play live when Hamilton took on Baraboo, and he was one of the most impressive players of the game in a matchup loaded with talent on both rosters. He uses his hands well to get off blocks and plays with a high motor, and he moves well through and across the LOS. His 6’5 frame makes his 220 look skinny, so with a ton of room to grow and some already obvious natural DL skills and strength that he has the makings to be a really high-level recruit. Midseason Highlights
Craesean Slaton Craesean Slaton 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Oak Creek | 2021 State WI (Oak Creek) 6’, 180 lbs. CB. @Craeslat21 Committed to UMD. – I got to see Slaton play live against the potent Indian Trail passing attack, and man did he step up and ball out against some big-time competition. Slaton has no problem operating on an island, but can also make plays in zone coverage and does a good job of using his eyes to read the QB, WR, or the ball when it’s in the air. I saw him make some impressive plays on the ball in-person, and his tape shows it too as he makes sure to get to the WRs hip before getting his head around, has great feet and footwork and can recover/get in and out of his breaks quickly, and can sink his hips and react to what the receiver is doing well. I’m a big fan of his footwork. It’s also nice to see him stick his head into the run game, and even on his Midseason tape you can see he has all the makings of being a complete CB who is poised for a great career in the NSIC. Games 1-3
Anthony Whitlow Anthony Whitlow 6'0" | 265 lbs | DL Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI (Brookfield Central) 6’, 263 lbs. DL/LB. @AnthonyWhitlow8 – Moves well for his size and is a force when he hits you. Has good pursuit ability. 4 game highlight
Conner Diestelhorst Conner Diestelhorst 6'5" | 325 lbs | OL Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI (Brookfield Central) 6’5, 323 lbs. OL. @Connerdiesel45 – Big kid who can move some people and has also lined up all over the OL for BC. He’s made big strides from his junior tape to now midseason highlights, and he possesses good initial pop which is hard for defenders to deal with and stay on their feet. He’d be a helluva DIII OL. Midseason highlight
