Oaks Christian punter sets date to commit
Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) punter Brenden Segovia will likely where he is going to school on November 25, his mom’s birthday.
Segovia spoke to Greg Biggins of 247Sports regarding receiving his jersey for the All-American Bowl. He earned his spot in the game by winning a punting competition against some of the top punters in the country.
“That was an awesome feeling,” Segovia told Biggins. “It was at an FBU Camp and there were some great kickers and punters from all over. It was head to head competition, you win and advance. We were judged on hang time and distance and I was the last guy standing so it was really special for me.”
He has six offers but also has a plethora of preferred walk on offers. He likes UCLA a lot but they are yet to offer him a preferred walk on spot.
I like Fordham a lot too and the idea of playing college football and networking in New York for life after football is really appealing,” Segovia said. “San Diego is another great option for me and I like Nevada and how the depth chart sets up there. Kansas plays in a great conference, the Big 12 and USC is another great program and a great academic fit. Wherever I go, my goal is to come in and be ready to compete right away.”
