Velltray Jefferson Velltray Jefferson 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE Edison (Fresno) | 2021 State CA , Edison (Fresno), 6’4” 230 lbs.
The big 6’4” 230 lb. athlete had a huge day after being awarded the overall MVP of the showcase and committing to Utah. He has a great frame and build for multiple positions at the next level depending on how he develops and matures. Right now, he is a physical force that moves well for his size and shows plus athleticism on both sides of the ball. At WR/TE, he’s a tough matchup for any LB or DB with his ability to use his size to his advantage and box out defenders to make a play on the ball. He has strong hands with good body control to make difficult receptions. He possesses great upside no matter where he ends up playing and it will be interesting to see how he is used in the Utes program.
Jalon Jackson, Buhach Colony, 6’1.5” 160 lbs.
Jackson walked away as the WR MVP of the camp after a strong performance. He’s a versatile athlete that is capable of playing receiver or defensive back at the college level. He has a long and lean frame with plus top end speed and quickness. He’s a good natural athlete that can change direction on a dime and transition well in and out of his breaks. One of his many strengths is his balls skills, he tracks and adjusts to the ball extremely well in the air and can go up and high point it with his leaping ability. Currently holds an offer from Lake Erie but is a D1 talent waiting for that first big offer after several strong performances at offseason showcases.
Jordan McIntyre, Chaminade, 5’11” 175 lbs.
Coming into the camp with seven offers including Brown, Dayton, San Diego, and Valparaiso, McIntyre showcased his all around natural talent for the position and what the colleges like about his skillset. He showed an explosive first step off the LOS with an initial burst that forces DB’s to transition out of the backpedal. He showed good change of direction with the ability to smoothly in get in and out of his breaks and snap off his routes to create separation. Displayed very reliable and confident hands throughout the day catching everything away from his body with ease. Average size but extremely long with a 74 inch wingspan.
Loren Johnson, Garces Memorial, 6’1.5” 180 lbs.
Johnson made several acrobatic catches throughout the drills portion of the camp, including a very impressive one handed grab. He’s an explosive vertical threat with the ability to stretch the defense using his straight line speed to get behind the secondary and his leaping ability to come down with 50/50 balls. He does a great job tracking/adjusting to the ball in the air and then attacking it at its highest point. He excels on the deep ball but displayed good ability to change directions and accelerate out of his break to create separation on short/intermediate routes. He’ll be one to watch in the explosive Garces Memorial offense.
