ROCK HILL, S.C. - Northwestern and South Pointe are separated by just a few miles, and the games historically have been tight but on Friday night it was the Trojans who would end up winning this game by a mile, defeating the Stallions 17-3 on Friday night, dominating the time of possession along with a punishing run game with 53 attempts and a smothering defense.

Let’s get into some of the guys that stood out along with other notes:

Offensive standouts

Northwestern

2021 WR Kyle Aldridge (6’3, 263 lbs.) -- Northwestern is known historically as being a passing team but they went to the run game Friday night and Aldridge ran hard as he was used as a running back who got the ball 32 times. He did a good job of finding the holes.

2022 WR Christian Watkins (5’7, 145 lbs.) -- Watkins was shifty and made guys miss with his quickness. That talent was on display on a 3rd and 16 conversion which later led to a spectacular 20-yard touchdown catch to extend the Trojans lead to 17-3 in the third quarter.

South Pointe

2021 QB Nebanye Moore
