Jake Robbins, Don Bosco Prep, Sr. – Robbins finished 13-of-19 for 135 yards and threw a touchdown as Don Bosco rolled past Paramus Catholic last week. He also ran for 97 yards and a score. He will be tested big time against St. Peter’s Prep and its stifling defense, but he has shown capability as a starter.
Samuel Slade, St. Peter’s Prep, Jr. – Slade ran for 97 yards on 14 carries and caught a 68-yard touchdown pass as St. Peter’s Prep cruised past West Orange last Friday night. He’ll have the attention of Don Bosco Prep this weekend following his performance in the season opener.
MarShawn Ferguson, DePaul, Jr. – Ferguson has big-time play capability, as seen in DePaul’s season-opening win over Pope John. He caught a 52-yard TD pass from quarterback Andrew Butler Andrew Butler 6'4" | QB DePaul Catholic | 2021 State NJ , who will be a top quarterback in the state this season. This could be a breakout year for Ferguson as DePaul looks to go 2-0 in a game against Delbarton, a team it has had some real battles with over the years. Last year Delbarton prevailed in a 39-37 thriller while DePaul won by a touchdown two seasons ago.
Nick Petrillo Nick Petrillo 6'3" | TE Delbarton | 2022 NJ , Delbarton, Jr. – Delbarton’s junior tight end made three receptions for 67 yards and a score in the Green Wave’s 24-7 victory over Seton Hall Prep to move into the top-20 state rankings. He scored on a 45-yard TD pass from Cole Freeman, who is experienced and can do damage both in the air and on the ground. Delbarton could use another solid performance from Petrillo if it wants to knock off DePaul.
