Cookie Desiderio (2021) | Somerville
How could this list not begin with the bruising running back from Somerville? Desiderio got hot early against Rahway in Week 2 and totaled 301 rushing yards on 32 carries. He got in the end zone five times in a 46-12 victory. Desiderio is off to a raging hot start during his senior season.
Patrick Smith Patrick Smith 5'11" | RB Holy Spirit | 2021 State NJ (2021) | Holy Spirit
Smith has been a workhorse for Holy Spirit for years now. He turned in one of his best games in Week 2 with 30 carries for 362 yards and four touchdowns. Smith score the first four touchdowns of the game for Holy Spirit with two of them coming from 47 and 48 yards.
Audric Estime Audric Estime 6'1" | RB St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ (2021) | St. Joe’s Montvale
This is no surprise given that Estime is one of the top players in the state this season. St. Joe’s Montvale is an all-around powerhouse and it begins with the Michigan State commit. Estime rushed 26 times for 286 yards and four touchdowns in a victory over Seton Hall Prep in Week 2. He is a true Division I running back with potential to be special at the next level.
John Volker (2021) | Rumson-Fair Haven
Rumson has a great history of running the football and Volker plays right into that. He rushed for 168 and three touchdowns as Rumson ran the ball effectively and played defense in a 28-0 victory over Long Branch.
Cris Verrico (2021) | Butler
Butler has a two-headed monster in the backfield with Verrico and Joseph Conti. Verrico led the way in Week 2 with 149 yards and three touchdowns. They are both dynamic rushers who can catch the ball out of the backfield.
Dominick Verducci Dominick Verducci 5'11" | RB Parsippany Hills | 2022 NJ (2022) | Parsippany Hills
Verducci le the offensive attack for Parsippany Hills as they scored 34 points against High Point. Verducci scored twice on the ground and controlled the game the entire way through.
