Ask football fans across the state who Jackson is – and it’s a good bet that they do not know who he is – or more importantly – never watched him play.
If you live in south Florida, you are 686 miles from Northview. Even if you happen to be in Gainesville, you are 353 miles from from where the 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back is now the all-time leading rusher in school history.
His 340 yards against Jay, broke the previous record, which was 4,053 career yards. Jackson has 4,178 and added four touchdowns in the win.
The colleges are certainly aware of this young man, who is in Florida’s Panhandle, where the recruiting is nowhere what it is throughout the other parts of the state.
Having offers from Wake Forest, Boston College and USF – despite playing Class 1A football in a rural region – this someone who more than deserves the attention.
