Once again, each article will include a breakdown of five players with their 2019 statistics and highlight tape. See below these five players for links to previous rankings in the series.
85. Miguel Farias – Buhach Colony – OL
The Buhach Colony Thunder had their most wins in a season (including playoffs) since 2011 to go with a perfect 10-0 regular season. The Thunder were one of the top rushing teams in the section with Farias’s dominance on the line of scrimmage. He shows speed running downfield and using his body to block for the ball carrier. Farias was named Central California Conference (CCC) second-team last season.
84. Dharuv Walia – Tokay – OL
Walia is a force on both sides of the ball at tackle. On offense, the Tigers have a sufficient balance between the passing and run game. Walia has shown to have excellent blocking ability to protect his quarterback or the rusher when coming out of the backfield. On defense, he shows his intelligence as a player to work against opposing blockers and make a tackle on the ball carrier. Walia was an honorable mention for the Tri-City Athletic League and currently holds an offer from Whittier College.
83. Haseem Khan – Tokay – LB
Opposing quarterbacks should be ready for a big hit from Khan if they are not able to throw the ball before he gets into the backfield. Khan was one of the top sack leaders in the Tri-City Athletic League with his ability to move quickly on the snap and bring down the passer upon contact. He was named second-team within the league and holds an offer from Whittier College.
82. Justin Morgan – Sonora – ATH
Even though Morgan’s listed positions are running back and free safety, he can provide much more from an offensive perspective. He has great hands catching a pitch from the passer and as a receiver for a long gain. Morgan is also a punt and kicker returner with magnificent footwork to break tackles and come up with massive returns to start a drive. His talents on the gridiron led him to be named second-team in the Mother Lode League.
81. Jimmy Espinoza – Atwater – DB
Espinoza is an all-around talented athlete who also plays basketball for the Atwater Falcons. He uses his height for the cornerback position with his ability to contest for a pick in traffic or play strong man-to-man coverage to make the opposing receiver not an option for the pass. Espinoza consistently has his eye on the ball carrier and makes open field tackles. At season end, he earned the recognition of second-team in the CCC.
