Each article will include a breakdown of five players with their 2019 statistics and highlight tape. See below these five players for links to prior rankings in the series.
90. Trevien McLendon – Gregori – ATH
McLendon’s tape will show highlights on both sides of the ball. On defense at free safety, McLendon displays away from the ball skills and stops the ball carrier from gaining more yardage once they are into his zone of the secondary. On offense at wide receiver, he is quick off the line, makes defenders miss, and has good hands to make a catch. He also was the Central California Athletic League (CCAL) leading receiver among juniors.
89. Jose Bravo – Lodi – ATH
Bravo had a presence on both sides of the ball at strong safety and running back. On defense, he uses his speed to get to the ball carrier as soon as the opponent passes the line of scrimmage. He displays his strength to stop the run by making solo tackles. On offense, he was one of the Tokay Tigers leading rushers with the second most yards behind Joseph Filippini. At the season’s end, he was named Tri-City Athletic League second-team. According to his hudl profile, Bravo has transferred to the Lodi Flames for his senior season.
88. Angel Vega – Central Valley – DB
If you are looking for a tough competitor with the mindset to make a big play on every opportunity, Vega is that type of player. As a free safety, he has phenomenal skills to change directions, can deliver big hits, and stop the run if the ball carrier gets passed the linebackers. He can also cover speed and make a strong tackle on receivers upon the catch. Vega was named to the Central California Conference (CCC) second-team.
87. Nick Levasseur – St. Mary’s – OL
St. Mary’s has an all-around top offense in the section. With multiple two or three-star recruits, this season and last, Levasseur at a center and guard is a valuable part of the team protecting the passer for a pass potentially to Jadyn Marshall Jadyn Marshall 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR St. Mary's - Stockton | 2022 State CA or Tyrei Washington. He can play both right and left guard, move his feet, and assist the St. Mary’s Rams run game. Levasseur was a Tri-City Athletic League honorable mention in 2019.
86. Ryan Hatton – Downey (Modesto) – OL
Hatton plays with tremendous pad level and is quick off the line of scrimmage to create gaps for the run game. He protects the passer with his heads-up mentality against edge rushers and stays on his feet until a blown whistle. Hatton also shows good hustle on film for blocking downfield. With this, he was second-team in the Central California Athletic League (CCAL)
