Because Florida’s high school football players had no spring or summer – and had to wait until nearly October, and in some cases, November, to start playing, the urgency to get on the radar screen has become more important than ever.
Unlike colleges, who are giving their seniors one more for year for exposure and playing time, high schools do not have that luxury.
Because the state of Florida has been split all year, and many have not had that opportunity to showcase their skills at the same time, the next two months will be as important as any time in many of these football prospect’s playing career.
Hoping to avoid injury or the spread of this pandemic once again, seniors need to be thankful for every play and each and every game this year.
While nothing is ever guaranteed, exposure does provide at least something that a college and student/athlete benefit from.
Today, we have five seniors who needed this senior year – for additional experience and promotion. Please check them out:
Ethan Singleton, WR/Slot, Ocoee. Following this impressive and fast (4.4 – 40) receiver for the past year, it’s obvious that this is someone who can make an impact every time he gets his hands on the ball. His Offensive Coordinator tries to get him the ball in different looks – like the jet sweep and middle screen. The objective, with someone like this, is to get him in space, and the rest will take over.

Javian Smith, LB, Pensacola Catholic. Here is a gifted prospect, who lines up at the outside linebacker position or at defensive end. Gets off the ball quickly and can be in the quarterback’s face – in an instant. He will continue to put the pressure on, no matter what quarter or opponent this team is lining up against. Tough to block over a course of a game. A true worker.

Michael Manno, DE, St. Johns Bartram Trail. This is indeed one of those prospects, who loves this game, but was very much in need of this season happening. The exposure this young man is receiving this year will go a long way in determining his future on the gridiron – if he chooses to stay in that direction. Solid talent who moves to the ball well. In addition, he also sports an eye-catching 3.5 GPA in the classroom.

Brendan Mayo, OL, Merritt Island. At 6-3, 295, this is someone that head coach Hurlie Brown and the Mustangs have been taking advantage of. This big body talent is quite athletic and extremely passionate about playing this game. Getting these games in so far this season has also been huge for him as well. Another of those football players that needs that opportunity to continue to showcase his skills.

Brock Richards, DL/FB, St. Petersburg Northside. Here is one of those plug in and play at several different positions kind of athlete. Whether it’s defensive end, tackle or as a fullback, here is a football talent that gives you everything he has – and much more. His play on the defensive line is improving and you can see how he makes his objective is to get to the quarterback or running back. Even as a fullback, he is a hard runner who is strong and will get you that tough yard. Impressive talent!
