Dutch Fork showed why they are the number one team in the state and will be difficult to knock off when the SCHSL playoffs start in two weeks as they dominated the Stallions in a 35-7 victory on Friday night.
Let’s get into some of the defensive standouts and notes from Friday’s contest:
Dutch Fork
2022 DB Myles Wilks (5’9’, 165 lbs.) — Part of South Pointe’s game plan on offense was to try and connect on some easy throws and this guy was having none of it. He closed quickly on the quick screens.
2021 LB Gabe Wise (5’10, 185 lbs.) – When QB Omega Blake tried to take off on designed QB keepers, it was tough sledding against Wise. He was effective in spying Blake and had really good instincts.
South Pointe
2022 DT Jakarhi Webb — We noticed at one point in the second quarter where Webb blew right past the center to blow up an inside running play in the second quarter with a good form tackle.
2022 DT Shadarius Williams — Even in the losing effort, Williams’s effort was clearly there. When the Silver Foxes tried to run it inside, at times, he was disruptive in forcing the play behind the line of scrimmage. His motor was always running.
South Pointe offensive line coach Frank Ambrose on Williams: “I think Shadarius plays tough. He’s athletic, he gives those big linemen fits and has the strength to back it up and I think that’s what we needed.”

South Pointe’s 2022 CB Chris McCullough made a critical tackle on a fake punt attempt on a 4th and long, helping to keep the Stallions in the game in the second quarter, down 21-0.
