Johnson has been absolutely lights out during his first year as a starter. You expect some struggles for a first year QB at any level, but that has not been the case with Johnson. Even in the game with his lowest statistical output, he managed to throw for 4 TD’s, and completed all but one of his passes. He is an incredible 118/157 passing for 2142 yards / 28 TD’s and 1 INT on the year. He has also done some work with his legs while rushing for 268 yards and 9 TD’s. The biggest thing that stands out for me when it comes to his game, is the fact that he is extremely accurate, and makes great decisions with the ball. Listed at 6′ 195 right now, he doesn’t have the prototypical size for a big time QB, but he should have plenty of growth in front of him which is exciting. Christian is a potential D1 prospect and is sure to draw plenty of recruiting attention in the coming years.
- RB Robert Lamar- Clarksville HS
Lamar had a strong season last year with 380 yards rushing, 353 yards receiving, and 7 total touchdowns. As impressive as those numbers are from a freshman back, he did that while splitting carries in the backfield. Fast forward to this season, and he has thrived as the lead back for Clarksville, with 1,004 yards rushing and 8 TD’s. His receiving numbers are down this year because of his new role, but he remains a major threat in the passing game as well. Lamar is a very well rounded back, and possesses incredible vision for his age. When you combine the field vision with his dynamic cutting ability, it becomes clear why he has had so many explosive runs on the season. Like most 2023 prospects, Lamar will continue to grow and get better each year moving forward. When you combine his already impressive skill-set with his projected physical development, you have a prospect that will open some eyes in the coming years.
- WR Jaron Tibbs- Cathedral
Jaron is an exceptional talent. He may not have the big time stats like some others in his class, but that is due to being a young player on a talented team. He is every bit as talented as the top players in his class. He is the D1 prototype when it comes to frame and length. Although still growing into his frame, Jaron has great body control and route running ability. His growth upside is huge, and he will draw a lot of attention over the next couple of years. Tibbs should have multiple offers level when it is all said and done.
- OL Ayden Randolph- Rensselaer Central
Ayden Randolph has an incredible frame. There aren’t a ton of guys that are his size and age, that can move the way he does. He is a powerful presence in the trenches, and has the upside to become a mauler with continued development. Skill players get most of the love early on in the recruiting process, but OL prospects like Ayden tend to heat up the closer to signing day it gets. Offensive line can often be hard to project due to a number of development variables. All of that considered, Ayden is a kid that shows a ton of potential early in his career. I am excited to see the player he will be in a few years.
