We also have a great variety from all three levels of the defense and from the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore classes. Every one of these student athletes have either college level ability or at least a trait that stands out above the rest that leads me to wanting to keep an eye on them. So, let’s not waste any more time and dive into some of the best defensive efforts in the state from Week Four.
Noah Galindo Noah Galindo 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Germantown | 2021 State WI , Senior LB- Germantown
Defensive Performance: 20+ Tackles, 7 TFLs, 1 FF, 1 FR, Game Winning FG Block in OT
This was a wildly dominant performance by Noah. He did it all. He was unblockable all night long. Offensive linemen couldn’t figure out how to get a hat on him in their blocking assignments and he made them pay. Find the ball and you will find Noah. You won’t see much more of a clutch performance from a defensive player than this. He set up the win for his team in OT. He created multiple turnovers on special teams. He shut down the offense all night. His range, ability to mirror the backfield, and his aggressive mentality were on full display in week 4. Noah vs Brookfield East
Luke Wroblewski, Senior DB- Hamilton Sussex
Defensive Performance: N/A
I like the toughness that Luke plays with. He is a safety, but this past week was down around the box quite a bit making tackles in the run game. Luke is such a sound tackler. The way he can work through the trash in the box and avoid blockers is special. He has a nose for the ball and knows how to get to it. I also really like the range he plays with at the size he is. You won’t find many kids that can go sideline to sideline like him at 6’0″ 195 lbs. In coverage he has shown that he can read the QB and has the speed to react and make a play to create incompletions. Luke is currently a baseball commit. Luke vs Brookfield Central
Drew Wilson Drew Wilson 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Homestead | 2023 State WI , Sophomore LB- Homestead
Defensive Performance: 6 Total Tackles, 1 TFL, Bonus: 2 KO Returns for 68 Yards
The development of Wilson is going to be one to watch. He is already a consistent contributor as a sophomore for one of the bigger programs in the state. He has a ton to offer. He’s already 6’1″ 207 lbs with plenty of speed to burn. You don’t see many LBs also returning kickoffs. This is a special athlete. Wilson offers sideline to sideline playmaking skills. The best part is you can see how raw he is. As he learns how to consistently disengage from blocks and gains more and more experience the sky is going to be the limit for him. Watch for this guy! Drew vs Nicolet
Will Campbell, Junior LB- Kaukauna
Defensive Performance: 7 Tackles, 1 Sack, 1 TFL, 1 PBU in one half of play
Will has made this list a few times so there aren’t many secrets with him. He is an up and coming junior LB prospect with a nice blend of size at 6’1″ 225 lbs and athleticism. I love it when I watch LBs and it looks like they are invisible to the offensive linemen trying to block them. It almost looks too easy how quickly some LBs are able to get past them without even being touched. Will is one of those LBs. He works through all the trash around him and gets to the ball with ease. Check out his film here! Will vs Wisconsin Lutheran
Brock Lampe Brock Lampe 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Bradford | 2021 State WI , Senior LB- Kenosha Bradford
Defensive Performance: 8 Tackles, 1 TFL
Brock is one of the best LBs in the state. He has the size, speed, and strength you need at the position for the next level. He also plays RB on offense so his conditioning is off the charts as well. That tells me that his dedication to the game goes farther than the season. He takes his offseason seriously. His physicality jumps off the tape on both sides of the ball too. When Brock is filling against the run you can consider the play over at the point of contact because he is going to be the one delivering the hit. Brock vs Indian Trail
Allen Torian, Junior DL- Living Word
Defensive Performance: N/A
This is an interesting small school prospect. Allen checks in at about 6’0″ 210 lbs, but he lines up at DT. Of course that is too small for the next level, but with the first step quickness and speed that he has there is definitely something to work with here. He also has plenty of time to grow, develop, and get stronger since he is only a junior. If he can keep that speed while he fills out this will be someone to keep an eye on. Check out his defensive highlights and see the burst he plays with here. Allen vs St. Joseph
Stefon Mitchell Stefon Mitchell 5'11" | 185 lbs | DB Bradford | 2022 State WI , Junior DB- Indian Trail
Defensive Performance: 8 Tackles, 1 PBU
Stefon is one of my favorite players in the Racine/Kenosha area. He has the speed and size mix that you like to see. At 5’11″ 180 he can both move easily in coverage and come down and make tackles against the run game. In coverage, Stefon moves with the ease of a cornerback. He has the loose hips to turn and run with receivers without losing a step and does a really good job of being the last line of defense. Several times he has shown that he can catch opponents in the open field and bring them down. Check him out. Stefon vs Indian Trail
Michael Dinaso Michael Dinaso 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Tremper | 2021 State WI , Senior DB- Tremper
Defensive Performance: 6 Tackles, 1 INT in the first half
Michael is best when he is able to come downhill and make a tackle. He is a kid who you can be confident in will make the tackle in space. I really like his aggressive play style. He doesn’t catch people when he tackles then. You can see he is the one that is looking to put the hit on them. His closing speed gives him that ability. Michael is also an opportunist. His interception came from him being in the right place at the right time and he capitalized off the tip drill type play. Michael vs Oak Creek
Caden Mulhollon Caden Mulhollon 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Wilmot Union | 2021 State WI , Senior DB- Wilmot Union
Defensive Performance: 16 Total Tackles, 5 TFLs, 1 Sack, 1 FF
Physicality is the name of the game for Caden. He is listed as a defensive back, but this week he played in the box a ton and it shows with the impressive stat line he put up. At 5’10” 203 lbs he is a bit of a tweener. He could stay that size and play safety at the next level or continue to add size and play more LB like he did in this matchup. His range was perfect for what they asked him to do. Caden can get from sideline to sideline to make tackles and he has also shown some nice awareness as he sniffed out a screen perfectly on one of his highlight clips. Check him out! Caden vs Delavan-Darien
Max Sheridan Max Sheridan 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Pewaukee | 2022 State WI , Junior LB- Pewaukee
Defensive Performance: 10 Total Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT
Max is no stranger to this article. This week we got to take a quick look at him in coverage. On his interception he stayed perfectly in the passing window as the QB rolled out to the right. He demonstrated good ball skills while elevating to make the interception. Sheridan is another tweener player. He could be a safety or he could play LB. He has traits that would translate to either position. Max had another strong night against the run too while making blockers miss and then making the sure tackle. Big fan of the way he avoids and slips off blocks and makes plays while in the thick of all the trash. Max vs Menomonee Falls
