With the 2020 season starting, I’m spotlighting Linebacker prospects from every classification in Florida. Today we look at the 2A Region 3 area which is loaded with talent. Big time players and some under the radar prospects are spotlighted below!
Kaleb Lowe- Seffner Christian
Lowe is a good athlete that does a good job sifting through traffic and getting to the ball. Diagnoses plays quickly, takes good angles to the ball, and uses his hands to shed blocks and get to the ball-carrier.
Jaylen Scribner- Seffner Christian
Scribner is a down-hill linebacker that can really run to the football, he’s a very good tackler, diagnosis plays and explodes to the football. He’s also very relentless in pursuit, hustles, and never quits on plays.
Noah Kent- Cambridge Christian
No wasted steps and isn’t caught out of position by fakes and misdirection, plays the ball carrier, and plays from inside-out. Has a good ability to drop into coverage trust his eyes and make plays on the ball, also is an outstanding open-field tackler.
Anthony Weaver- Keswick Christian c/o 22
Weaver’s a terrific athlete that also excels at running back. He fills holes quickly and comes under control, making great form tackles. He has a lot of speed, range, and plays sideline-to-sideline.
Josiah Massie- Cambridge Christian
Massie plays stand up outside linebacker, does a really good job using his hands to disengage from blockers, is a good pass rusher that shows nice closing speed. He makes a lot of splash plays and it shows, by having 9 tfl already this season.
Kyle Pierre- Cambridge Christian
Pierre is a nice prospect that does a good job slipping blocks, also uses his hands very well to disengage, and is aggressive in run support, he shows good effort and speed in pursuit. He will be a nice addition to someones program.
Reggie Johnson- Carrollwood Day
Johnson is a very versatile linebacker, he can put his hand in the ground, play out in space, or be in the box; and he does all of that equally well. He does a good job reading his keys, and gets to the ball quickly. Also shows ability to fill the gap and bring some pop filling the hole. He currently has one offer from University of Rhode Island.
Andrew Fievet- St. Pete Catholic
Fievet is not flashy, but he makes plays, and is a solid tackler. He’s a classic linebacker that trusts his eyes and attacks the ball, he does a good job shooting the gaps with burst and agility to get to the ball carrier. He’s a throwback linebacker that makes plays all over the field.
