Once again, Mitchell High has been one of the teams that have remained under the radar, despite a solid season. This program is indeed for real.

It isn’t very often that they have a football program in this part of Florida, who is catching the eye of everyone.

What head coach Andrew Schmitz and his staff at J.W. Mitchell High have been able to assemble on this senior-oriented squad is amazing – and in each and every game, here is a program that is making believers out of a lot of people.

From the start of the season, there was no doubting that this football team was stacked with talent, had leaders and play-makers who sparked this team.

Size, speed and athleticism are awesome ingredients to have a solid team.

While there are some huge surprises in this crazy season, you can add the Mustangs to that growing list.

The Mustangs began the season with a 42-12 win over Pinellas Park, 61-3 over Cypress Creek, 35-0 over Tarpon Springs East Lake and this past week, 42-14 against rival Wiregrass Ranch.
