Hanson was a redzone nightmare as a junior and has the ability to split out wide at x receiver. He high points the football in the air and plucks the ball away from opposing defensive backs. He’s put together at 6’4, 230, and will do the dirty work on the inside as a blocker. Lindenwood got a steal in this kid.
RB: Maguire Raske, Pierre T.F. Riggs (SD), SR
Raske shows great patience and burst on film. He pulls away from opposing defenders giving chase and has good top-end speed. He can return kicks or line up in the slot, regardless of where you put him, the kid is bound to make a play. He’s off to a hot start in 2020, already combining for 18 total touchdowns. Keep an eye on him as the season continues.
QB: Max Thomson, Washington (SD), JR
The pure pocket presence and awareness are what stood out to me on Max’s tape. He doesn’t get rattled against the blitz and is willing to sit in the pocket and take a shot if it means hitting his wideout. On-Film, he showed impressive accuracy on all three levels and dropped the vertical ball right into the breadbasket of his targets.
ATH: Reid Hartness, Fargo (SD), SR
This kid lined up as a quarterback in 2019, but I think his future at the next level is as a tight end. He’s got good straight-line speed and is nifty in the open-field as a ball carrier. Hartness has solid size at 6’3, 215, making him a solid fit as an H back at the collegiate level.
DT: Gunnar Gehring, Pierre T.F. Riggs (SD), SR
On-Film, Gunnar has a great first step for a big man and a heavy punch he uses to create havoc against offensive linemen. He easily fights off blocks and has consistently made plays in the backfield as a senior. I’m not sure very many offensive linemen in South Dakota can single block this young man.
ATH: Garret Meehl, Oakes (ND), SR
Garret does just about everything for Oakes and has been nothing but a playmaking machine as a senior. He’s got good top-end speed that he uses to run away from defenders & great range as a free safety. He’s one of the premier playmakers in all of North Dakota, and I think he’s got a bright future at the next level as a defensive back.
RB: Josh Buri, Brookings (SD), SR
I watched individual game clips from Buri’s senior season and was stunned by what he has been doing to opposing defenses this fall. The kid is put together at 5’11, 205, has the strength to run over you if you get in his way, but also the speed to outrun defenders who have an angle on him. Buri could be a huge steal for a Division two program.
