Grandview is coming off a dominating 91-0 victory over Dallas A+ Academy last week in district play. The Zebras are led by star QB Dane Jentsch Dane Jentsch 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Grandview | 2021 TX and recent Texas A&M commit Dametrious Crownover Dametrious Crownover 6'7" | 240 lbs | TE Grandview | 2021 TX .
West has flown under the radar all season and rely heavily on their rushing attack and sound defense. The Trojans like to control the clock with star running back Trey Janek. Janek has rushed for almost 600-yards and 11TDs this season.
Grandview is currently 3-0 in district play and in first place, while West is 2-0 in district play and in second place.
McGregor 4-3 at Lorena 3-2 District 11 3A DI
McGregor was able to outlast Troy last week 58-57 after dropping a heartbreaker to Academy 45-42 the week before. The Bulldogs have an explosive offense headlined by quarterback VeAndre McDaniel and running back Chad Lorenz.
Lorena was off last week after falling to Troy 49-41 in the prior week. The Leopards have a rotating backfield that has four different players with triple digit rushing yards this season.
McGregor is currently 2-1 in district play, while Lorena sits at 1-1.
Cameron Yoe 4-2 at Troy 3-3 District 11 3A DI
Yoe was idle last week after knocking off Academy 37-19 the week before. Cameron is averaging 33PPG this season and has only been held to a single digit score once this season, which was to rival Rockdale 42-9 in the Battle of the Bell.
Troy couldn’t slow down the McGregor offense last week, despite a 367-yard 7TD performance by their star running back Zach Hrbacek.
Cameron is 2-1 so far in district play, while Troy sits at 1-1.
#6 China Spring at #10 Salado District 9 4A DII
China Spring knocked off Gatesville last week 58-27, behind a three touchdown performance by Tre Hafford. Quarterback Major Bowden threw for a touchdown and ran for another, while running back Emmanuel Abdallah added another touchdown on the ground.
Salado used their Slot-T offense to control the clock last week and knock off Connally 20-15. Noah Mescher rushed 136-yards and two touchdowns to help secure the victory.
Both teams are 2-0 in district play and the winner of this game will capture first place.
Harker Heights 2-0 at Bryan 1-0 District 12 6A
Harker Heights defeated 5A DII #8 Boerne Champion last week 20-14. Marcus Maple and Terrence Knight both scored to help lift the Knights over the Chargers.
Bryan has only played one game this season, due to Covid issues and that was a 31-20 victory over Waller on September 25th.
It will be the Knights’ first matchup against former coach Ross Rogers, who built the Harker Heights program from scratch 20 years ago.
This will be the district opener for both programs.
