Paola vs Louisburg
The 7-0 Paola Panthers look to finish the 2020 regular season undefeated but before they can do that, they must face the Wildcats of Louisburg who at 4-3 have played well this season. A victory would give Paola an undefeated regular season for the second year in a row. Paola has scored at least 31 points in every game and have averaged 46 points per game while giving up only 17.4 points per game. Paola is led on offense by QB Garrett Williams. The 6’0 180 lb Senior shows very good accuracy as a passer while displaying very good athletic ability as he is a dual threat who uses his quickness to avoid LB and DL leading to big gains. In addition, he is a great contributor on defense as a safety. Another standout player for Paola is Senior WR/DB Nick Walker. The 6’2 175 lb Walker plays with great leverage on defense and uses his play strength to bring down defenders with ease. He also shows great ball skills as he tracks the ball in the air and can make the interception on the ball that is thrown over his shoulder. Louisburg has averaged 25.25 points in their 4 victories while only giving up 8.75 points per game on defense in those games. On offense they are led by Senior QB Weston Guetterman. Guetterman is a good leader who can make the throws but also shows great ability to make plays while running the ball as well.
McPherson vs Augusta
This week, the 6-1 Bullpups of McPherson face the 3-4 Augusta Orioles. The Bulldogs have averaged 39.7 points per game and have given up 14 points per game on defense. On offense, they are led by QB Dylan Rinker who has thrown for 1,759 yds and 18 TD in 2020 including a trio of 300 yd games with 2 of them in the last 2 games against Mulvane and Buhler. Another standout on offense for McPherson is Sophomore RB Jaytin Gumm. Gumm has rushed for 869 yds and scored 9 TD with five 100 yd games so far. Augusta has built up some momentum winning the last two games scoring over 40 points in each including an impressive 47-0 win against Abilene last week. They are led on offense by Senior QB Jett Hand and Senior RB Ryan Andrews. Andrews had 3 TD against Abilene in the 1st quarter and shows very good quickness, agility and play speed as he is difficult to stop once he has the ball in his hand.
Fort Scott vs Field Kindley
The 4-0 Fort Scott Tigers look to finish the regular season undefeated as the play the 2-4 Field Kindley Golden Tornado on Friday night. Fort Scott is ranked as the #1 team in class 4A by maxpreps and have shown great heart as they have come away victorious in 4 close games this season. Field Kindley is coming off of a 27-24 victory last week against Chanute and look to finish the season on a high note with a two game win streak going into next year. Fort Scott is led on offense by Senior QB Malachi Vann. Vann who is 6’3 180 possesses a powerful arm and can deliver the deep ball with accuracy and touch while completing short and intermediate passes on a line and putting the ball where only the receiver can catch it. In addition, he shows good mobility and athleticism on QB design and option runs.
