To follow up our recent report naming some of the best 2022s we missed on our rankings we have found seventeen more promising recruits who would make for some productive college players in a couple years. Check out which names you need to know below, these kids won’t stay unranked for long! Thanks for reading.
Riley Butcher (Glencoe-Silver Lake) TE. 6’2, 220 lbs. GPA 3.94. @RileyButch_5 – It looks like Glencoe-Silver Lake has put together a nice looking crop of 2022s, and Butcher is a promising one as he’s a strong and filled out in-line TE who can move DEs and LBs downfield with good technique and great effort. He also made an impressive diving TD catch that shows off some hands. Junior Midseason
Ben Bowe (Chaska) OLB. 5’11, 180 lbs. GPA 3.63. @benbowe6 – Hard-hitting standup OLB prospect who gets himself around the ball and goes hard every play. He packs a real good punch when he hits ya.
Keenan Rodriguez (Anoka) WR/SS/P. 5’11, 175 lbs. @keeanr04 – Shows some good nuance in his route-running and has good hands, but I’m most impressed by his toughness and willingness to make tough, contested catches. He will look the ball in through big contact, and I like his top end speed as well. Promising WR recruit. vs. Blaine vs. Maple Grove vs. Totino-Grace
Keaton Lawson (Park Center) TE/OLB. 6’2, 215 lbs. @KeatonLawson25 – The Park Center Pirates have one of the best basketball teams in the state, and Lawson is a small forward on the hardcourt, which translates to a lot of athleticism on the gridiron. He can throw a mean shoulder when carrying the ball, and is a willing blocker. He looks best as a pass-catcher in my opinion. vs. Robbinsdale Armstrong
Jerome Treadwell (St. Paul Highland Park) DE/OLB. 6′, 190 lbs. @jerometreadwel2 – Burst onto the recruiting scene this season as a promising pass-rusher in St. Paul who gets out of his stance with explosiveness and can get upfield or down the line quickly and uses his hands well to disengage from blockers. He also shows some good natural bend and is a decent tackler to boot.
Highlights of my first 2 games this season! 8 Sacks, 12 Tackles.
#15 DE

Riley DeRosier (Brainerd) DL. 6′ 225 lbs. @DerosierRiley – The Brainerd Warriors are a top tier Northern MN program who every year put out scholarship talent to the college ranks. DeRosier is a nice sized DL prospect who can play at the 0-tech, 3-tech or 5 and has a mean spin-move and some good hands as well. Shows good effort and good tackling as well. vs. Moorhead vs. Bemidji vs. Alexandria vs. St. Cloud Apollo
Jed Klang (Brainerd) WR. 6’2, 195 lbs. @JedKlang2 – Great sized WR prospect who has won some “Player of the Week” awards for Brainerd and is also a promising hockey prospect, so you know he’s a good athlete.
Drew Kittelson (Blooming Prairie) QB. 6’4, 200 lbs. An absolute small-school gem of a QB prospect, Kittelson is killing it on the #1 ranked Minnesota A team Blooming Prairie as QB1. He’s all over the MNFootballHub leaderboards as the #8 in the state for completions (75), #4 for yards (1,168), and #2 in TDs (18) so far, and the film backs up the stats as he throws with some great touch and accuracy. He’s also a really impressive athlete, and his long strides cover a ton of ground and make him a dangerous runner when he takes off. Looks like he has a really strong arm as well. All in all one of the best 2022 QB recruits in the state who we are going to have up high on the rankings. – vs. Lewiston-Altura vs. Medford vs. Rushford-Peterson
Leo Bluhm (St. Thomas Academy) OL/DL. 6’4, 260 lbs. GPA 3.894 @BluhmLeo – I’m a big fan of Bluhm as a prospect. St. Thomas Academy has had a good history – both recent and traditionally – of putting out quality FBS OL prospects, and after graduating two hammers last year it looks like Bluhm has taken over as the next dominant Cadet OL. He’s a strong and aggressive pulling lineman who can get to the second level with ease and is also strong in his pass-set. He’s a bruising and technically sound offensive guard. vs. Hastings vs. Apple Valley
Mark D. McCarthy (Providence Academy) TE/DE. 6’4, 225 lbs. @MarkDMcCarthy88 – A great sized recruit who moves well for his size and particularly apt at catching the ball. He has good hands and it’s obvious he’s a great athlete at the TE position. He’s got a strong lower-body that can eat some cut tackle attempts, and also is a good blocker who can move people when he wants to. I really like his skill-set and am excited to see McCarthy’s full junior highlights. Midseason Junior Highlights
Blayne Kildahl (Big Lake) DB. 5’10, 190 lbs. @BlayneKildahl – Helped lead Big Lake to a big win over Marshall yesterday, and Kildahl sets the tone for the defense as he’s a big-hitter who can play multiple positions on the defense. He does a great job of tracking ball-carriers and exploding through contact once he gets there, and also has some coverage ability. My favorite trait of his is definitely how hard he hits. Games 1-6 2020
Trevor Jones (Zimmerman) QB/DB. 5’11, 170 lbs. @trevorjones_15 – Good athlete at QB who can scamper and scramble in the backfield, and has a high release point in his throwing motion and can throw some accurate balls. He’s really shifty as a ball-carrier as well. Midseason Highlights
Sam Dennis (Mayer Lutheran) RB/CB. Has a real mean stiff-arm and a surprisingly strong lower body for his size that makes him a tough RB to wrangle down. He’s a good outside rusher with some solid speed and seems to break at least on tackle every run he has. He’s fun to watch and Mayer Lutheran is stacked for their 2022 class. @samueld47639021
Matthew Donovan (Kasson-Mantorville) QB/WR. @MattDonovan22 – Heckuva athlete at the QB position who is fast and a strong cutter with great burst. He’s a tremendous triple-option QB and fantastic athlete. 2020 Midseason Highlights
Treyton Bammert-Mueller (Park) TE/DE/K. 6’5, 230 lbs. @BammertTreyton – Plays both ways for Park this season as both a TE and a DE, and made some big plays from both positions at the midpoint of this 2020 season. With great size he’s a natural at breaking tackles and made a sweet back shoulder snag for a TD against Hastings. He’s also a natural and getting into the backfield from the DL. He’s posted 17 tackles, a sack, a FF, 2 FRs, 2 TFLs, 10 catches and a TD, and 7 field goals! He even punted a ball 61 yards. What can’t he do?! Someone should start contacting this kid! Junior Midseason
Tanner Shumski (Mankato West) DT. 6’2, 230 lbs. @TannerShuminski – Last week won the Applebee’s Player of the game for an outstanding two-way effort from the OL and DL positions. He’s also a really promising baseball recruit, and with the athletes that come out of Mankato West I would try to snag this kid on my DL if I was a college coach.
Michael Suh (Park) WR/DB. 5’9, 150 lbs. @Michaelsuh2413 – The junior two-way player shows good ball-skills and an ability to make people miss in the open field. Also a good basketball player. Junior Year Highlights
