Again these picks are solely based on my opinions, a little with rankings and Section Title games. Here are your three 1A teams:
Mayer Lutheran Crusaders (7-0)- Mayer Lutheran had a type of year where they scored a lot and gave up one score a game, if they gave up any points at all. The main reason I picked them was the fast pace of the offense to run away with a game at any moment. They averaged 40 points a game on offense and gave up 4 points on defense.
QB- Ty Hoese Ty Hoese 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Mayer Lutheran | 2022 State MN throws dimes anywhere on the field, deep, short, medium, in traffic the ball gets to where it needs to be. He was able to keep the offense at a fast pace and high scoring with big throws.
RB/LB- Dylan Nelson is a good, powerful runner on the offensive side. Defensively he is a good tackler both in the scrum and in the open field.
TE- Teigan Martin Teigan Martin 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Mayer Lutheran | 2022 State MN is a good target with his big frame and speed. He also had a good set of hands to be a reliable target and made plays after the catch.
Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms (5-0)- Blooming Prairie set out to defend their Title from a year ago. They returned a big crew to help defend and may have been well on their way to doing so given the chance. The Blossoms averaged 42 points a game offensively, while defensively only giving up 17.
WR/LB- Mitchell Fiebiger is a good target running seams and crossing routes, with hands and route-running ability. Defensively, he reads, fills and tackles quickly and effectively, very technical in his game.
QB- Drew Kittelson has good touch on the ball, can squeeze the ball through tight windows and puts the ball in the best spot for his receiver. Also good in the read option offense with good decisions and made good runs on the keeps.
RB- Tyler Archer good target out of the backfield, makes plays in the open field. He runs the ball hard, does not go down easy, and is also shifty.
Minneota Vikings (7-0)- The Vikings got back to a good stride this year, returning almost every offensive lineman, and most of the skill positions, they ran like a well-oiled machine. Defense is a key asset to the Minneota style, only surrendering 7 points a game, while putting up 27 themselves on average.
OL/DL- Beau Bannish did a great job leading the run game by giving the backs gaps to run through, good pull-blocker and good drive blocker. Defensively, engages the OL well and sheds the block quickly, good tackler as well.
RB/DB- AJ Josephson can run the ball for speed and power, is also a good target for screens, nothing flashy, just gets the job done.
OL- Jacob Citterman anchors the line well, leading backs as well with the seams he opens. Does well on the back-blocks in the misdirection offense, mobile lineman.
