As we are now in the middle of the state playoffs, every player is being watched and evaluated.

While positions such as quarterback, running back, receiver and defensive backs are perhaps the most popular positions for college coaches to show the most interest, there are other places that continue to make a lasting impression.

For the defensive ends and linemen, this is the perfect time of year for those quality performers to make a name for themselves.

Today, we take a look at five defensive standouts who are impacting football programs from Pensacola to Key West, and everywhere in between.

2021 - Colt Brown, DE, Daytona Beach Seabreeze. Another of the many under-the-radar talents that has had an amazing season for a program that is truly on the rise. Among the sack leaders in Florida, he recently picked up three more in a loss to longtime rival Mainland. He has tremendous size (6-2, 235) and is a leader on the field. Has helped to set the tone for the future of this program.
