Oghenemine Imarah DE, Bridgeland – I cannot say enough about this young man. I force to be reckoned with on defensive, Imarah is an effort guy who will make plays for you when you need it. When he gets knocked down, he is right back up with no hesitation. A very athletic guy who can make your tackles look foolish and who can dictate a game when he has to. Imarah is the district leader in sacks with 10 and tackles for loss with 17. I can see Imarah being an edge rusher at the next level and a player who can make an impact on the field from his effort alone.
Adrian Owens ILB, Langham Creek – One half of a very active linebacker duo, Owens is a physical field general who shows good sideline to sideline speed at 6’2, 220 pounds. Usually the player to take on the blocks, Owens shows good strength by getting off blocks and being able to either make the play, or free up one of his teammates to make it. Owens has shown great closing speed when it comes to tracking down the speedy backs in the district. On the year, Owens has 67 tackles which is second in the district and averages 11 tackles a game.
Christopher Agnew DT, Cypress Woods – Blink and you may miss big number 97. Agnew shows such a great first step off the snap it is entertaining to watch. At 265, he is light on his feet and a one on one nightmare. Agnew’s swim move is a beauty to see and it usually leads to a tackle for loss. Double teams and quick throws seem like the only way to slow him down. Agnew has 40 tackles on the year so far and is third in the district with 13.5 tackles for loss.
Robin Neely S, Cypress Ranch – Neely shows great hybrid skills with his ability to help in run support as well as dictate the open field on passes. Shows very good anticipation on runs and goes to the correct gap in order to make plays. The physicality he shows is also a positive in his game. He is not afraid to lay the wood to dislodge the ball and that only adds to his game. Very good quickness as well as sideline to sideline speed. Neely has 39 tackles through 7 games and is averaging 5.6 tackles a game.
Landen Nowak ILB, Cypress Ranch – Nowak may not be the guy who stands out on film at first, but after a few plays you will be searching for his name. Nowak has a nose for the ball and just makes plays. A tackling machine who will go against anybody. No fear in his game and his ability to get downhill is impressive. You lose sight of him for a second, and he’s already in the backfield or has made the tackle. Nowak is averaging 8.3 tackles which is fourth in the district, 58 tackles which is fourth as well, along with 2 sacks to go with that.
