A Lot To Be Thankful For This Year
We all know that this has not been the best year that we have experienced in our lifetime.
This pandemic has ripped us to the bare bone. It has made us understand how fortunate we have long been – to go and do as we please – without restriction.
There is no getting around the fact that nobody felt, in our lifetime, we would be turned away from restaurants, forgo movies and sporting events – and see every walk of life try to survive, without a clear future.
Nothing has gone right in 2020 for so many, and that’s why if we had any bright light at all in this unreal calendar year, you would want to let it be known.
Having been around college, high school and recruiting for 50 plus years, you tend to read the landscape, and while the NCAA and certain state associations had been doing their best to make this pandemic even worse, there is indeed something to smile about.
Since this past July, Shannon Jordan and myself have been working our tails off – along with Jake Lemming – to ensure that Prep Redzone Florida is at games, practices and in touch with high school coaches and players from Key West to Pensacola.
We have never made one excuse about not having games to cover to camps and combines to attend. What we had was a statewide website that jumped into things in a very tough year.
But as you can see from our DAILY work on this website, our passion goes way beyond the Xs and Os. It is something that we grew up with and watched and covered some of the very best ever to play the game.
A huge thanks on this Thanksgiving holiday has to go to Jake Phillips and Jared Nelson – and all those hard-working people in this company that is certainly an emerging giant on the high school sports scene. Basketball is already rolling and football has made a major splash over the past year.
Thanks to the coaches, players, parents, students, administrators and fans who understood the information that we provide is first-hand – and ensures that close to 5,000 football prospects will be listed, talked about, featured and ranked.
As we are now in the midst of the state championships, it is unusual not to see some of those south Florida powers in the mix, but it’s also great to see some new faces on the football playoff stage.
From Our Family Here At Prep Redzone Florida, Happy Thanksgiving – and keep checking back every day – for more recruiting information than you ever know existed.
