QB Adryan Lara Adryan Lara 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Desert Edge | 2022 State AZ , Desert Edge, 2022, 6’2” 210 lbs.
Big game for the Washington State commit in week 6. He threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns in the first half against Sunrise Mountain and finished the game with 360 yards and four touchdowns in the 26-23 victory. He’s a natural quarterback with great arm talent and playmaking ability. Possesses a great football IQ with his ability to read coverages, understand route concepts, and manipulate defenses while going through his progression. Excels when the play breaks down and he is able to improvise and extend plays using his legs. Throwing mechanics and footwork have continued to improve throughout his career. He has a compact and quick release that allows him to make strong accurate passes at all three depths. Shows good route anticipation and timing with his receivers. Prior to committing to Washington State he held offers from Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas, Oregon State, and William & Mary.
RB Logan Gingg Logan Gingg 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Verrado | 2021 State AZ , Buckeye Verrado, 2021, 5’10” 195 lbs.
Gingg had a day in a 60-46 victory over Ironwood, he finished with 382 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns. He’s a complete back that is versatile and explosive with the ball in his hands He shows good short area burst and acceleration through the hole with the ability to make quick lateral cuts without sacrificing any speed. He’s a balanced runner that drives through contact and can break tackles. Plus vision, awareness, and instincts as a ball carrier. Shows good and confident hands out of the backfield. Picked up offers from Yale, Cornell, Lamar, Bucknell, and Abilene Christian before committing to University of San Diego.
WR Gabe Escobedo Gabe Escobedo 6'1" | 165 lbs | WR Miami | 2022 State AZ , Miami, 2022, 6’0” 155 lbs.
Escobedo has put up back to back monster games. In week five against Holbrook he racked up over 300 scrimmage yards with 100 on the ground and 230 receiving, four touchdowns, nine tackles, and three PBU’s. This week in a win over San Tan Charter, he had 235 receiving yards on 13 receptions with two receiving touchdowns, returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, had eight solo tackles, and four PBU’s. He has continued to put up numbers in the stat sheet using his speed and quickness to make explosive plays week in and week out. Poses as a vertical threat with his ability to change speeds and slip by the secondary. Plus ball skills and body control allow him to make difficult receptions in traffic and in the air. Needs to continue to develop his technique and route running fundamentals but he has a good foundation of raw talent.
ATH Nate Wright, Prescott, 2021, 6’0” 190 lbs.
A natural football player with the versatility to be effective at multiple positions. He rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns in the 32-10 victory over Bradshaw Mountain and then added 10 tackles on the defensive side. He has good size and frame to build on at 6’0” 190 lbs. He shows plus speed, athleticism, and lateral agility on both sides of the ball. Plays well with his eyes and flashes very good football instincts and anticipation to put himself in position to make plays. Colleges will love his high motor and ability to play fast and physical. Has flown under the recruiting radar but flashes great potential and upside.
DL Jacob Holmes Jacob Holmes 6'3" | 285 lbs | DL Chandler | 2022 State AZ , Cesar Chavez, 2022, 6’4” 285 lbs.
Holmes had a huge impact against a strong Higley offense when he recorded 14 tackles, five tackles for losses, and two sacks. Love to see his athleticism and mobility for his size at 6’4” 285 lbs. He’s light on his feet and shows plus lateral agility to work around blockers or down the LOS. Puts himself in good position early with a quick and aggressive first step off the ball and a good ability to diagnose plays quickly. Strong and powerful at the POA but can also use his athleticism, footwork, and hands to beat blocks. He has continued to improve and has good tools to build for the next level.
LB Eli Palmer, Red Mountain, 2021, 6’2” 195 lbs.
In the week six loss to Queen Creek, Palmer had 11 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. He possesses a lot of raw talent and tools with his size and speed. Flashed great ability in pursuit with his change of direction and closing speed. Plays sideline to sideline at full speed but is calculated with his movement. Strong tackler that can deliver contact but also be reliable in the open field. One to watch in the second of his senior year.
DB Sebastian Tomerlin, Queen Creek, 2022, 5’11” 155 lbs.
Tomerlin made plays all over the secondary for Queen Creek in week six. He recorded two interceptions and two PBU’s in a tight game against Red Mountain. He’s a smooth athlete that shows good acceleration and top end speed. A rangy safety that can cover a lot of ground quickly by reading the field and anticipating. Flashes a good break with little wasted movement and plus balls skills to make plays in coverage.
