Bridgeland has made its mark this season through their aerial attack spread offense with an array of weapons to achieve victory. With numerous lop sided games Bridgeland sits at 20th in the state of Texas. Coach David Raffield is no stranger to district and state titles with a talent such as Weigman there’s no denying that the future is bright.
Currently in his junior season Conner has passed for 2033 yards and 24 touchdowns, while only throwing 5 interceptions. The Bridgeland Bears are very good at WR, Hunter Wallis and Dylan Goffney Dylan Goffney 6'1" | 205 lbs | WR Bridgeland | 2021 TX , two seniors who have really made the chemistry of the passing game flourish. Weigman looks to continue his quest for a title through efficient playmaking skills. Conner has a knack for the endzone and is stepping up to the challenge of leading this team through a difficult season with outside implications. Staying healthy is important if Conner wants to make a push in the state playoffs.
Hunter Wallis and Dylan Goffney Dylan Goffney 6'1" | 205 lbs | WR Bridgeland | 2021 TX have also came up very big for the Bears as well. Wallis leads the team with 42 receptions and 664 yards and 6 touchdowns. Goffney has only played in 3 games this year due to injury but has senior leadership through his entire play and his recent return vs. Cy Springs this past Saturday. Wallis and Goffney both carved up the Panthers with Weigman at the helm they were able to amass 287 yards through the air on 5 touchdowns as a group. These 2 seniors are able to able an outstanding combination on the edge of the perimeter. They understand how Conner Weigman Conner Weigman 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Bridgeland | 2022 State TX works the spread offense and often times they are able to take bubble screens 60 yards to the house! Both receivers have similar playstyles in which Wallis and Goffney specialize in the slip screen with nothing but daylight! Conner has chemistry with both receivers on the outside as well as Andrew Maleski and Atrevion Hunter. Maleski and Hunter specialize as Weigman’s slot receivers. Maleski has 22 catches with 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hunter has 21 catches on 290 yards and 5 touchdowns. Weigman understands that when the defense plays soft on his slot receivers. They are his security blanket and throws to them when necessary. In the spread offense it is very important to have a passer who understands all of his receiver’s reads and options and Weigman has been making sure that this group remains happy. This receiving corps maybe one of the top receiving corps in the state when healthy. Conner and the Bridgeland WRs understand the aerial attack is important in winning a district championship. Coach Raffield has been famous for the spread offense and they are continuing that tradition by putting up astronomical numbers beating the Cy-Springs Panthers 78-14 on the way to clinch a playoff berth.
Led by Conner, the Bridgeland Bears set atop the standings poised as perennial contenders. Next on the plate is a District Championship and with Cy-Lakes, Cy-Falls and Cy-Fair left Weigman and the Bears have a formidable opposition to their district title push.
