6. Tristan Risley, Clovis, 2022, 6’0” 165 lbs.
As a sophomore, he ran for 1,338 yards and 15 touchdowns on 166 carries. A developing downhill RB that shows good upside and potential. He’s a smooth athlete with natural running ability and visual feel for blocking angles and holes. Good ability to make one cut to make the first defender miss and then get square up the field. Well balanced ball carrier that runs with good pad level and leverage. Just scratching the surface of his potential, with added game experience and a good frame to build on he’s one to watch for the next several years in the Clovis offense.
7. Christian Alvarez, Wasco, 2021, 5’8” 150 lbs.
A natural football player with a good combination of power and speed for his size at 5’8” 150 lbs. One of the top statistical players in Wasco history with over 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns the last two seasons including, almost 1,400 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2019. Plus acceleration and lateral agility in between the tackles and in space, he’s able to elude defenders and make quick cuts around his blocks. He runs strong and with a low center of gravity he’s able to run through arm tackles and always be falling forward to pick up tough yards.
8. Jaron Amos, Ridgeview, 2021
An impressive athlete with plus strength and explosion. He has good short area burst and quickness through the hole and love the way he commits to his running lanes. He’s a physical back that is strong and powerful at the POA with his ability deliver the contact and run through tackles. He’s a strider with good open field speed that can wear defenses down. Finished 2019 with 1150 yards with 10 touchdowns on 162 carries.
9. Keyshawn Pu’a, Nipomo, 2021, 6’0” 220 lbs.
Pu’a is a throwback football player that is a force on both sides of the ball. Possesses good size and frame to build on at 6’0” 220 lbs. and is a deceptively good athlete. He’s a punishing downhill ball carrier that will overpower defenders by lowering his shoulder or using a strong stiff arm. He plays the game fast and physical with a rarely seen intensity and toughness at the high school level. Shows some good short area acceleration in space and flashes some explosive athleticism that catches tacklers on their heels. Projects as a LB at the college level but ran for over 1,000 yards and six touchdowns in 2019.
10. Kidasi Nepa, Righetti, 2021, 5’8″ 175 lbs.
A versatile athlete capable of playing RB or DB at the next level. Good athleticism with quick feet and fluid hips allow him to change direction quickly and get in and out of his cuts with speed. Plus vision, he does a good job finding open running lanes and hits them hard with a strong initial burst. Shows good patience and ability to read blocks. On both sides of the ball he displays impressive instincts and game awareness for a young prospect. He’s one to watch as he continues to develop and improve.
