6. Christian Hamilton Christian Hamilton 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Hickory Ridge | 2023 State NC , 6’ 175, Hickory Ridge- Hamilton is the No. 2 overall player in our 2023 rankings and we’re not the only ones to recognize his talent. Hamilton’s offer list includes several blue bloods of college football, including Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and others. His ball skills are incredibly refined and every play is a big play opportunity.
5. Coleman Jeffcoat Coleman Jeffcoat 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Mallard Creek | 2021 State NC , 6’4 215, Mallard Creek- It’s no secret that I’m higher on Jeffcoat than most, as I think he’s a Power Five talent committed to a Group of Five school. Any time a team can have the chance to sign a 6-foot-4 receiver that can run, they should do it, and Jeffcoat fits that description. After being slowed last year, he has the chance for a breakout senior season, should he stay in high school.
4. Elijah Metcalf Elijah Metcalf 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Mallard Creek | 2021 State NC , 5’9 170, Mallard Creek- Jeffcoat’s teammate, the 5-foot-9 Metcalf is our highest-ranked Group of Five commit in the state. Metcalf is electric with the ball in his hands and excels at making people miss. Middle Tennessee State has had success recruiting smaller receivers from the Carolinas and Metcalf could be the next great one.
3. Julian Gray Julian Gray 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Hopewell | 2021 NC , 6’ 180, Hopewell- Gray is a speedster who committed to NC State fairly early in the process. Whether he lines up in the slot or outside, he’s a threat to burn the defense deep. Against West Meck last season, he put up nearly 300 receiving yards on 11 catches.
2. Gavin Blackwell Gavin Blackwell 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Sun Valley | 2021 NC , 6’ 165, Sun Valley- Blackwell is one of the most explosive receivers in the state, but since current college superstar Sam Howell graduated, the quarterback situation at Sun Valley has been less than ideal. For a time last season, Blackwell himself played quarterback, just to get the ball into his hands. Should Blackwell enroll at North Carolina early, he has the chance to link up sooner rather than later with his old quarterback.
1. Shaleak Knotts Shaleak Knotts 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Monroe | 2022 State NC , 6’2 175, Monroe- Knotts is one of the most dangerous all around players in the state and he could probably play on either side of the ball at the college level. He’s a more natural receiver though and it’d be hard to take the ball out of his hands to make him play full time defense. He’s a threat to score at any moment and more people need to see him play.
