Andale (11-0) will attempt to win its twenty-fifth straight contest and back-back-to state championships on November 28.
Here is a look at key players for the Indians and Kaws in Saturday’s Class 3A State Championship game in Hutchinson.
RB, Eli Rowland, 5-10, 160, Andale – Rowland is a skilled back who will play college football. The Indian senior has rushed for almost 1,500 yards in 2020 and has scored 30 total touchdowns. Rowland runs a 4’7 forty and has the ability to elude defenders and break tackles.
DL, Cayden Winter Cayden Winter 6'0" | 220 lbs | OL Andale | 2021 State KS , 6-0, 220, Andale— Winter is a senior defensive lineman who can stop the run and rush the passer. He is a difference-maker on Andale’s defensive front. He has amassed 57 tackles and two sacks during the 2020 campaign. Winter has an offer from Bethel College.
LB, Caden Parthemer Caden Parthemer 6'1" | 180 lbs | LB Andale | 2021 State KS , 6-1, 175, Andale– Parthemer leads the Indians in tackles with 64. He is a strong and powerful linebacker who knows how to finish tackles.
QB, Thad Metcalfe Thad Metcalfe 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Perry Lecompton | 2021 State KS e, 5-9, 170, Perry-Lecompton – Metcalfe has been playing quarterback after beginning the season as the Kaws’ (11-1) starting running back. He has rushed for more than 1,200 yards and thrown for more than 1,200. He has accounted for 35 touchdowns in 2020 including 24 on the ground. Metcalfe has multiple college offers including NAIA programs Tabor and William Penn.
TE Hunter Hess, 6-1, 185, Perry-Lecompton – Hess is one of the more dangerous tight ends in Kansas. He accumulated 300 yards receiving on 13 catches. This on a team with several offensive weapons. The Kaw tight end has scored three touchdowns in 2020. Hess is being looked at by multiple JUCO programs.
LB, Hayden Robb Hayden Robb 5'11" | 220 lbs | LB Perry Lecompton | 2021 State KS , 5-11, 220, Perry-Lecompton – Robb a senior linebacker has 125 tackles in 2020. He has an offer from Benedictine College. He could receive more offers after playing on a state championship stage.
