Holy Spirit entered the season with great expectations. They were one of the best teams in the state and solidified that notion throughout the strange 2020 season. Heading into Thanksgiving Day, Holy Spirit was one win away from finishing off a perfect 8-0 season. And they accomplished it with flying colors.

On Thursday, Holy Spirit picked up their third shutout victory of the season. They defeated Atlantic City 39-0 on the back of their rushing attack. The 39 points notched the team’s fourth game of 30 or more points. Devin Lee was the workhorse during the final game with 32 carries for 258 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Michael Francisco finished with a sack and a fumble recovery while CJ Egrie notched an interception.

The offense was led by Patrick SmithPatrickSmith5'11" | RBHoly Spirit | 2021StateNJ all season. The senior has been one of the best running backs in the state for two years now. As a senior, Smith finished with 221 carries for 1,719 yards and 16 touchdowns. Trevor Cohen took over the quarterback duties as a junior and did it with perfection.
