Richie Sica, Ramapo: Ramapo, No. 15 in the state rankings, made a big-time impact in the team’s win over Paramus on Halloween. He showcased how to get it done in a variety of ways. He ran 14 times for 92 yards and scared on a pair of runs, making defenders miss with his shifty cuts. He also had great field vision throughout the game on punt return and defense. Sica finds holes in the run game, and he’s not an easy guy to bring down with the way he forces guys to miss.
A’Khoury Lyde, DePaul: DePaul, the No. 14 team, was out of action over the week due to COVID-19. The 2-2 Spartans have gone up against some premier teams. Lyde has been a spark. He made four receptions for 86 yards and a TD in a loss to Bergen Catholic two weeks ago. He has scored on a punt return this season and also had two interception returns for scores against Seton Hall Prep. Lyde is great at following the ball on defense, and he has a great leaping ability. He can turn on the jets, and he’s a tough cover in man coverage.
Jake Robbins, Don Bosco Prep: While Robbins and No. 13 Don Bosco have been out of action for two weeks due to the virus, they will have an opportunity to pick up a humungous victory over St. Joseph (Mont.) this week. Robbins has shown the ability to make plays with his arm as well on the ground. As long as he can limit turnovers, he will give the Ironmen a chance in games.
Doug Brown, Williamstown: Brown and No. 12 Williamstown suffered its first setback in a loss to St. Augustine in Week 5. Despite an interception, Brown was efficient, completing 80 percent of his throws, and throwing for nearly 200 yards. He found Brody Colbert on a 14-yard score, and he connected with Keon Sabb Keon Sabb 6'2" | ATH IMG Academy | 2022 FL eight times for 110 yards. While Williamstown has relied on defense, Brown has shown poise in the pocket, and he is capable of throwing a deep ball with precision.
Brady Small, St. Augustine: Small made eight tackles and had two sacks in No. 11 St. Augustine’s thrilling win over Williamstown. He is powerful up front as a two-way lineman, and he finishes through on blocks.
