Quin Wittenauer RB
The 5’7 170 lb Senior looked awesome on Friday night as he rushed for 157 yards on 23 carries and 2 TD. He also caught 2 passes for 21 yards. In 2020, he has rushed for 876 yards on 123 carries and scored 13 TD while catching 5 passes for 30 yards. He has rushed for 100 yards or more in every game he has played in with 5 multiple TD games including a 4 TD game against Lawrence Free State last month. He shows good patience and vision as he follows his blocks through the open hole. He displays good burst through the hole as he accelerates quickly into the open field. He displays very good contact balance as he keeps his feet moving on contact and uses his play strength to break tackles while falling forward for a few extra yards. He is a reliable receiver as well as he shows a good catch radius as he is able to make catches with his hands on passes that are thrown high.
Cody Moore DL
The Junior DE was impressive on defense against Spring Hill. In the game, he had 4 tackles with 2.5 sacks, a pass deflection and a forced fumble. In 2020, he has made 19 tackles with 3 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and a FF. He has improved significantly in the last month as he has 15 tackles, 3 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and the FF in just the last four games and will play a big role in Mill Valley’s great defense as they look to repeat as 5A state champions.
Cooper Marsh QB
The Senior signal caller played a great game against Spring Hill both as a passer and while rushing the ball. He completed 13 of 22 passes for 206 yards and a TD while rushing for 25 yards on 2 carries and a TD. In 2020, he has completed 69 of 109 passes for 1,108 yards and 10 TD with an impressive passer rating of 123.9. He also has 333 yards on 56 carries and 8 rushing TD. He shows good poise in the pocket as he uses his athletic ability to elude LB and DL while keeping his eyes downfield finding the open receiver and delivers the ball accurately with good velocity on short and intermediate passes to the correct shoulder of the receiver maximizing yards after the catch. Throws the deep ball with accuracy and touch as well. Shows good mobility as he uses his play speed to escape blitzing defenders and is quick enough to pick up significant yardage.
Jacob Hartman WR
The 5’11 Senior was reliable against Spring Hill as he caught 5 passes for 81 yards. In 2020, he has caught 33 passes for 658 yards and 8 TD while providing assistance on the ground with 405 yards on 45 carries and 5 rushing TD. He has 3 100+ yard receiving games and 2 100+ yard rushing games. He plays both outside and in the slot and takes long strides to eat up the cushion of the CB, uses quickness to break off his stem at a 45 degree angle on slant routes or 90 degrees on dig and out routes. Shows good hands with the ability to make catches on passes that are thrown both in and out of the strike zone. Displays very good physical toughness as a blocker as he uses his good play strength to pancake CB while run blocking.
Blake Martin DB
The 5’8 160 lb Senior CB had a huge game on Friday night as he made 7 tackles with a TFL and an interception that was returned for a TD. In 2020, he has 34 tackles with 2 TFL and 2 INT with a pick six. He displays good football intelligence as he reads the QB and keys and diagnoses the play. Uses his very good play speed in pursuit of the ball carrier and plays with good leverage and play strength as he brings down the RB or WR with force. Displays good ball skills as he tracks the ball in the air and uses his hands effectively to come down with the interception.
